It's a shame they can't even effectively administer the OTO program in the US. I suppose the coach building and OTO programs only truly work if one deals directly with the factory.

"Deal," maybe ... but they'll definitely hold the bag for you! ;)

It will be interesting to see how the designs ordered reflect their owner.
As Napolis' car reflects his love of the classic road racers, this new one looks straight out of Speed Racer.
    Everyone to his loves.
I am hopeful this generates some business for Michiel.

Coachbuilding, wasn't Pininfarina, the official carosseria, for Ferrari, since Noah, gave the "all-clear," to leave the ARK? Well, maybe in the old days?

They may want to consider designing motorcoaches, (busses), as that will be the future in transportation. Those of us who drive today, will be unable or willing to pay the high costs of "personal vehicles," in the new economic realities of tomorrow. Make some fast and pretty busses, that Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton, would be proud of!

    Ciao...Paolo

I assume it is factory certified?
Or does that cost an extra 5 Grand?

You picked the better design house, the P 4/5 is by far the better car.

Pictures in issue #2 of the Ferrari Magazine.

    Interesting comment from the article:

"And although we are happy to recognize them as modified Ferraris, technically they they have not been engineered by Ferrari which means we can't be liable for them. They are simply design exercises. After a few of these had appeared* we had to say to these designers, please stop. Ferraris must be designed, engineered and manufactured in Maranello....

The SP1 is the first product of this new department and holistic approach."

So they said to Pininfarina, Zagato and Giugiaro "please stop"? What if they did?

And I thought Ferrari has a participation in Pininfarina, making it de Facto the design studio for the Factory... Actually it's Piero Ferrari who does... I suppose it's the same thing...

Good for them! They'd be crazy not to take advantage of the opportunity and build these cars. What have they got to lose? Independent studios have much more to risk imho. No matter what they do or how incredible it is there will always be the purist nay sayers who will condemn it as "not a Ferrari" unless it's done by the factory.

That's every designer and artists dream. Count me in there as well but I suppose for the cost and time involved you'd be better off scratch building a design for The Riddler Award and then if you are lucky enough to do well you would have people lined up at your studio door. Either way you need a lot of capital.

Hopefully the people that have their cars built will look a little better than the Sultan of Brunei's specially built cars!
