Mine was with my Winchester .270 with a Weaver Steel Lite II 3X9 scope; 10 out 10 in the number 10 ring or Bullseye (4 in the Bull) on a SR1 NRA 100yard target at 500 yards at the Parshall rifle range here in Colorado...

My best shot rolled a prairie dog off the back of his mound at 664 yards with my Cooper chambered in .204 Ruger. I hit another one at what I believe was around 700 yards on the same day, but I wasn't able to verify the distance with a range finder so I don't count that shot.

Edit: Perhaps I actually missed on both shots and Uro picked them off for me, from the comfort of his hotel room.

I don't sky bust ducks because that is unethical, but I wounded one in range that then flew out to 80 yards that I dropped dead with 12 gauge 3.5" Black Cloud #4's!

When I was 19, I did a guy in Laos with a rifle shot at a thousand yards in high wind. Maybe eight or even ten guys in the world could have made that shot.

The lame tactic of taking pot shots at birds that are beyond effective killing range, hoping to knock them down.

Only serious competitors have ever even heard of Anschutz. Who did you shoot for/with?

If you didn't get 10 shots inside an inch with an Anschutz then something would be wrong...

I like the 270/308/7mm Mag, 300 Win Mag or something like that for long distance myself... The beauty of the .223 is that it's cheap and light to carry around. I cannot imagine being on the battle field during WWII dragging around a bunch of 30.06 or 30 cal ammunition along with everything else. Those dudes were super tough...

I just bought a Ruger M77 VT in 220 Swift from a friend's dad good to see someone else shoots it...I called Gander Mountain yesterday to ask if they had any snap caps for a .220 Swift and they basically told me, "good Luck", seems to be a sort of a bastard caliber. Need to get optics and a bipod on it and get it out to the range. Rifle may have been fired once and I got it for $400. He has a basement full of Leupold scopes that I am going to sort through to find the right one.

Best shot was with an AR-15 HBAR that I sold about 10 years ago. Black tailed prairie dog at 350 yards (aprox. as I didnt have a range finder, but I paced it off).

10 shots into 6.89" group at 1,000 yards.

One shot into the chin of a bad guy silhouette at 1100 meters with a sabot round out of an M1A1 tank. I got kicked off the range for that, but I have to say that I was pretty proud of hitting a man-sized target with the main gun. After that, my big career goal was to main-gun a real bad guy, but it never happened.
