I put my 348 on Cars.com but have had very little (none) response. I wanted to get a 3rd party or any recent buyers thoughts on the ad. After looking at it today it does convey a bit of arrogance as I really don't want to sell the car and I do think it's one of the better condition Spiders around. My opinion is great but it doesn't attract buyers. Please feel free to comment on how I might make the ad more buyer friendly or what I may have missed.

    Thanks all,
    Ben

Here are my edits......I took a couple things out and Changed a few things. Just my opinion. I would also drop the price to 59,995 is you wanna move it soon.

1995 FERRARI 348 Spider "Show Car" condition you won't find a cleaner 95 Spider with this few miles in the proper colors. 17,xxx Miles All Original, Full books and Records Complete. Includes tool kit, owners binder and car cover. Major service done by (Name the dealer here) This is a 9.5 out of 10 car that could be driven across country today without hesitation. I spent well over a year to find a "perfect condition" 348 and this was the one. This is a no excuses, no apologies car. Additional photos on request and I welcome PPI's.

I don't read it as being too bad a desc.
I'd only comment on the price... seems much too high. But, I also don't know the 348 market.

    More pictures would help too

If cars.com has a limit of 4, then I'd link to an offsite URL with a vast array of images. Something like that would help justify the price

Your call on price point, but I paid $10k less for my 348SS in pristine condition.

Other than that the ad looks good, but I would also recommend removing the comment about "...safer than stocks" I like the take above by Ape that he edited.

Good luck, bad market to sell right now.

I'd take out the ref to investment. why focus someones attention on recent losses!
    Price is much too high.

    4 things fighting your sale:
    economy
    its November
buffet of cars for sale (supply through the roof)
    not a buyer in sight

have to ask yourself if you need to sell. if you do, cut the price... if you don't... forget trying to sell

Only way to sell today is at a discount...

Thanks for the feedback, I agree a lower price might move it faster but it's not a must sell consideration. I also wanted to leave a small amount of wiggle room as everyone wantes to feel like they negotiated a deal. As far as price it is on the higher end but I feel pretty good the miles and condition realy do justify the price. I realy did spend over $3500 in airfare to look at well over 12 Spiders to find one in this shape. It's just a waiting game I guess for someone to come along that is as picky as I was.

Great feedback and I do thank you all

Just my 2-cents, and I'm sure you don't want to hear it...

I suspect the "hammer' on a 348 Spider is in the extremely low 50's, at best. 'Bid' and 'Ask' are of course all over the place. If I were to sell my 348ts right now I would be stunned if a serious offer above $32k was even tendered.

If possible, store the car until spring when you'll have warm weather (and God willing) the perception of a better economy on your side. Those two things alone can get the price closer to your listing.

If this is true, you're likely wasting your time. more cars outh there with seller's who do have to sell. if you're not going to match their price, you don't stand much of a chance. PRICE SELLS...

Gotta get them sniifing at the hook befor they'll bite,... and gotta get a bite at the hook before you can reel em in... your bait isn't sweet enough IMHO.

Unfortunately, no one is going to refund your search costs...

Only way to sell today is at a discount.

The last 2 actual sales I could confirm for '95's were in the mid 50's and had higher mileage. That being said even something that happened yesterday has no relevance to today :")

This is right up my alley...The first couple of things I will point out, is your pics...Take as many pics as you can, start shooting on the driver side then walk around the car, working your way through the interior, then to motor bay and the boot. Take pics so that car fills the shot...make sure they are clear and show good color, and avoid using editing software...let the pics speak for themselves. Also take pics of the records, tools, and anything else that comes with the car.

Also if you have not already, pay someone to detail the car, dye the seats if need be and repair any scuffs on the rims...

Now for the ad, talk about you being the owner and your love of Ferrari. Now also make sure that when you are talking about the car, your refer to it as Ferrari 348, that way the search engine robots hit your text, and pulls your ad through google and AOL motors...

Here is a ad dispriction that I would use:

"Check out my 1995 FERRARI 348 Spider finished in Red, over a Tan leather interior. My Ferrari 348 spider has been driven just 17,526 (Always put the true miles) miles since new and looks as good as the day it was rolled out of the Ferrari factory! This Ferrari 348 Spider's exterior is gorgeous, you couldn't hope for anything nicer with all original books, records, complete tool kit, owners binder and car cover. The interior of my 348 Spider is in absolutely mint condition and still has the new car smell. My Ferrari 348 Spider has never had any need for repairs to be done to the body due to collisions or accidents and has been pampered, I spent well over a year and several thousand dollars on airfare to find a "perfect condition" 348 and this was the one . My 348's engine runs very smooth and Major service done by (name ferrari dealer). Options include the 3.4L V8 engine, Shields and standard 3 peddle manual transmission. Other features are: premium sound system (name the exhaust), air conditioning, power mirrors, dual front restraints, and remote keyless entry!

I welcome Pre Puchase Inspections, and can suggest enclosed transport coast to coast! Call today for more information on how this Ferrari 348 Spider can be yours today! "

I do this for aliving, and rember its a numbers game..the more views and the more hits your ad recives the better the convertion will be!

I have a great idea! Why don't you start a thread about your car for sale on a message board frequented by thousands of Ferrari owners and enthusiasts, cleverly placing a link to your ad and asking for opinions? I bet that would really boost your exposure and, if you didn't even bother to pay a subscription fee to said message board, it wouldn't cost you a dime! :D

I have been a subsciber but had not noticed it had run out. I'd be more than happy to re-up. I don't see where it gave me any more exposure than the sticky 348/355 for sale thread did. I have tried to be a contibuter to the forum, purchased parts from sponsors and tried to be an active member of this community. I really didn't view this as an ave to find buyers as most of us here allready have one. I think you read way to much into it. Feel free to delete the thread and I'll stick to the 348 part of the forum where people know me a little better. I can re-up my subscription or simply make a donation to the leukemia society in your name. I was just diagnosed last week which is why I'm selling my car. A simple PM could have cleared this up instead of calling me out in front of everyone.

This is not a collectable car so I'm not sure what a "show car" does to increase the value beyond a fancy way of saying it's a well kept clean 348. $62.5k is never going to happen when you see what other well kept clean 348's fetch, and no one is going to waste their time hoping you have $10k wiggle room. Since it's not a "must sell" situation, I suggest you don't, and wait for better economic conditions in a year or two if you have your heart on selling at the top of the range.

Ad looks pretty good to me. It looks like it was written by an owner and not some pro used car guy, which is good. If it's not moving it's price providing you're getting the exposure.

i know it's already been said, but the reason you haven't got a call is because you are at least 20k over market. If you can't take that kind of hit, you should sit on it for a couple of years.

I do have a question though, why no dealers? If a dealer called you and offered 62k, would you sell it to them?

$20k over market?? If I found one like mine for $42k I'd buy it NOW in addition to the one I have.. if you've seen one PLEASE let me know. I've turned down 4 offers for mine in the low 50's

I do think it's worth note that the 348 seems to be the red headed step child even among other Ferrari owners. Non 348 owners value them well below the figures I've documented from recent sales. Also they tend to get lumped together in so much as a 91tb with 45k miles and a '95 Spider with 17k miles seem to be equal when people toss values out?

as far as dealers.. I seriously doubt a dealer would come in with a retail offer. But putting it in the ad has cut down on the number of telemarketer calls offering to "list it for me" on all there special sites with preapproved buyers ready to "purchase today" LOL

Price is generally the biggest thing on getting calls. It's true for homes as well. A few years ago I had a buddy who was getting a new 360 and wanted to sell his 348 spider. It had a lot of good stuff on it and I was willing to go 50k just to have a car to go to the track with. I know, I know it was a soft top. Anyway I think it went for 55k and he had a lot of options on it. What do I know......keep the car and drive it.
