The price depends on how much fuel is in the tank.

Nope I'm a great advocate for facing the truth. -15% in three weeks on the same Lusso and still no bids does not mean all is well no matter how you try and spin it.

I just got the new Dupont today and found several F40s for sale, anywhere from 450,000 to over 640,000. Alot of Enzos for sale as well but they seem to be holding value.

Asking price does not = sale price.

But do we really think, a nice F40 will reach the region of a new F430, or a 288 the region of a used 599? I can´t imagine right now - but i don´t have a clue where this will end....

Who knows, and ultimately, who cares. Buy when you feel the price is right and drive it and who gives a crap about the price of it while you own it...it's a car and not an investment...I'll catch flak for that I am sure.

Drive the damned thing and have fun while doing it, screw the miles per dollar sentiment or what the car market is doing or anything else. When the price is right for you for a certain car, buy it and drive it. Carpe Diem and all that. If a person is all pootie pucker all the time and looking at the mileage counter while driving....then screw it, go buy a freaking Honda NSX (excellent car). MOST Ferraris are liabilities...the extreme expense of upkeep alone for any model is enough to keep sane people away from them.

Sometimes I have to wonder about people...passionate about the brand but afraid to drive the cars due to depreciation from miles...spend all that money buying it, spend all that money maintaining it, only to let it sit in the garage most of the time whilst large strings of hundred dollar bills vanish overnight...buy a Honda or learn to smoke money. Take the tram, whatever, but to spend large wads on a Ferrari and spend most of the time looking over it with romantic eyes while it is parked in the garage or driveway is kind of missing the point.

As you quoted my answer, you may think I´m one of the Ferraristis you mentioned. Attached you can find the result of my treatment to a F430 Challenge (back was even worse) ;-))

Due to an accident (not in a racecar) i will probably not be able to race next season, so I´m looking for a F40 as a driver. I´m not in a hurry as the winter is coming and i don´t need it sitting in my garage. But you can surely understand, that I´m highly interested where the prices will go, as I wanna buy one in the next 3-4 months.

Well the price of a used 599 is dropping, too. So is the price of a barely used F430. So the F40 would still be relatively more expensive, even as it drops.

LOL! But seriously, provided the CAD/USD exchange holds up, I'm a serious looker if F40s are in the threes, so yeah I'd suspect there is some price SUPPORT there. But that doesn't mean it's a bottom.

No I thought you were asking if I have any F40's (subject of this thread) for sale. I have a nice one available (not mine personally)...

I dont have any 288 GTOs for sale - unfortunately.

Please spare us speaking on my behalf as to how I must be feeling. Rest assured, Im not frustrated. I accept market conditions.

Remember this: in a down market, its not great for sellers. Its very good for buyers.

I dont only act for sellers. I also act for buyers, and they are having a good time right now...

This isn't a good time for buyers. Prices have a long way to fall before it's a good time for buyers. As I said anyone buying a car to day is paying a 30-50% rental Fee from today to the bottom.

As for brokers it's not a good time for them either. 10% of a lower number is less revenue unless of course you make it up in Volume.

The Math is The Math and it is relentless.

Gentlemen. Don't you have the impression, that people just have panic that anybody else is running out of cash and thatfore prepare themselves for a long winter? My portfolio has lost profits, yes, but i didn't loose a single dollar.
    Best.

and there is still a lot of opportunities for business with huge amount of money to be invested for real activities. So a nice % would be enough to buy F40, 288, and many others!
