    Hello Friends,
I need a replacement inside, driver's side door handle for my newly acquired '83 Mondial QV. Anyone have a source, or are parting-out a car perhaps? New handles cost over $400 and I want to avoid going that route, if possible. Thanks.

    Rick,

    Good luck.
    rare as hens teeth.
    Save the broken ones.
depending on where the brake occurs,
you can make a drivers side out of a broken passenger side handle.
(400i's also have these little pot metal beasts.)

Can you post a picture? If I could get somone to send me one, I could look into making them. I work closely with a great casting company. If there is interest I would be happy to investigate.

not trying to hijack, but since you mentioned casting.
There is another thread here on the Mondial top, where a simple piece seems to break. Here is the link: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=138194094#post138194094

I broke 2 in my mondial before I made one, I traced out the door handle on some 3mm alloy and welded some 5mm alloy down the centre, then with care shaped the hinge part with a dremel, took my time and it came out perfect, it could not even be picked out in concours judging, at a cost of AU$50 and 3 hours of my time which I enjoyed I would do it again for the other side if that were to break, if any one wants pics let me know

I had to replace the driver's side inside door handle when I owned my '84 Mondial QV. The price from Ferrari UK was outrageous. I was lucky and found one through a used parts guy out in California, IIRC. I think I paid around $75 for it. I don't have my old receipts (they went with the car), but I'll try to check for the name of the guy I got it from.

I like the idea of reinforcing the unit. Over time, they tend to crack because they are aluminum and they flex. If you pull to hard, it's easy to snap it off. If I had not been able to get a new one, I was going to have someone weld the old one for me, with a reinforcement on the underside, and just smooth the top surface as much as possible and call it quits. I felt lucky to find a replacement.

If we are talking about the black plastic door handles, I can inform you that they are off a Fiat Uno.

On my '84 Mondial, it was a brushed aluminum piece, not plastic. Now, it would be really interesting of someone could post a picture and someone found out that the aluminum handle also was a Fiat part. LOL

Ah - Sorry for the confusion - you have a 3.0 whereas mine is a 3.2 that have different interior door handles and styles
    According to eurospares cataloge
    3.2 is part number 61805400
3.0 is part number 60631300 Left door
    60631200 right door

They have one in stock for a right hand door at £79.25 plus VAT and shipping www.eurospares.co.uk

PS I have nothing to do with the company, i am not advertising for them... I have used them in the past and been pretty good. Always shop around for prices as we know how they can vary.
