I just recently went online to a company to order new business cards and colored postcards. The company told me I uploaded the wrong size and dpi for the postcards. I asked them to guide me thru the process as I am quite stupid when it comes to this stuff. of course, no response. Anyone out there do this kind of work or know where I can get some help? I know what I want on the postcards just a matter of figuring out how to upload or do it..

I can help you out with that. Just need to know what size your postcard should be (4x6"?)... DPI should be at least 300, but it depends on how you create it to begin with. What program did you use to create it, and what size is it now? Feel free to PM me or email the file to me and I can take a look at it.

Looks like you got help. In addition to the resolution make sure it's a CMYK image.

If you're printing you need a CMYK (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black) image as most of us printers use 4-color process when we print.

Sounds like Robin has you covered though, get with him and he can make sure your image meets specs.

Stick to policing donuts and let the experts handle the printing for ya Robbie!

I usually design all my stuff in Illustrator or Pshop and use overnight prints, if you wanted to pm or email over the design I could give a quick once over and make sure it was in the appropriate format.

I used overnightprints.com for my last business cards. They have great prices and list all of the directions on their site. I did have some problems with them, but it ended up working out and the cards came out great.

I work for an online print company. If you are still having trouble, let me know and I will give you the website. Easy uploads for your files with directions how to do it. If you still are stuck, customer service can help. Good luck.
