F Chat Favicon?

    Why is there not a favicon for F Chat?

    As I look at the bookmarks on my toolbar all of them have custom favicons except for Ferrari Chat. Are my browser settings not picking it up and it is really there?

    Do we need a contest to come up with one?

    There's not one.

    I would upload the one from my site (a prancing horse), but Fchat doesn't allow a .ico file

    To be honest I think at one time someone sent one to me, I guess I never got to uploading or it never made it in one of the upgrades. Let me know what to do with it and I will. Thanks.

    It just goes in the root html directory

    Go here and download it/right click and save. http://www.utcobras.com/joe/fchat.ico

    Copy it to the root of the fchat directory and rename it favicon.ico. Correct me if I am wrong anyone...

    I did that and added to my favorites, but don't see it. someone else test it?

    download the .ico file and then place it (via FTP?) into the Fchat webserver root html directory

    I checked in Firefox and IE and I see it. You may have to do a CTRL-F5 or just restart your browser to get it to see it.

    I'm on Vista, don't think that would matter though as favicon sounds like an HTML standard.

    I am using MS IE and had to delete my temporary internet files and re-launch a new browser session in order to see it.

    Here is a screen snapshot with the new "FC" favicon next to the web address in the browser window:

    I checked another computer with firefox and chrome and it is showing. (Both are XP boxes). Sometimes it takes a while to refresh your browser settings and propagate.

    Finally! Cool. You can also put these 2 lines of code into the <head></head> section to guarantee that it will show up in older browsers that don't automatically search for favicon.ico

    Nice! :) Might even look better with a transparent background instead of white, which should work with .ico files, if I am not mistaken....?
