Send a woman to do a mans job....and she drops her handbag! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081119/ap_on_sc/space_shuttle
Saw the video of that on the news last night--kind of ridiculous. What happened to tethering things? I noticed that they haven't included a cost of the lost tool bag. Probably a cool half-mil orbiting overhead right now. Oh well...
Wow it looks like she just "tossed" it aside looking for something and it floated off. I'm surprised they didn't try to retrieve it. Shouldn't they have a long tether on board to get those kinda things? It didn't seem to go that far away.
In the military, we call them "Dummy Cords," for a reason. See NASA news for the illistrated version of the reason.
Probably not your standard grease gun or grease. Plus who knows what else in the case, at 'screw you NASA prices' and some MaryKay products. I vote over $1 million. Plus $750 million to use anti-missile weapon to shoot it down due to 'toxic' grease....
But, is she an ALF? Can't you see those tools are from the 2008 Fall/Winter collection and are already passé? She wanted, and is going to get something from the 2009 Spring Collection.
Yeah, cute blaming a woman for a loss of some tools. How many women were in charge during the NASA's worst disasters? I guess women were in charge of Apollo 1, Challenger and Columbia missions? Please. She dropped a ****ing bag with some tools in it. Big ****ing deal.
Nah, they said $100,000 but it can't be. Imagine all the tools, machines, building and people they have, no way they lost $100,000 from the bag, 2 grease guns, a scraper and a plastic garbage bag. If that's the scale on what hing cost, NASA would consume into the trillions. I call BS. Either for publicity or ego, the number $100,000 was given out. I doubt it cost over $30,000. Now if they meant research and development for the tools and bag, yes but who would factor those into the equation?
Hey Artie......back to rehab for you! When they got the heroin monkey off your back, it looks like they took your humor monkey too! Why don't you go look for it.
turns out the bag cost 100,000, not bad for a couple of caulking guns, http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27910795/
The Universe show on cable had a segment on disasters and near disasters with space programs. The Russians back in the day had two space walkers and one, untethered, started to float off. The other guy grabbed him at the last second. It happens. Think about the complexity of tethering each and every tool let alone the bag.
Huh? Clasp this, this, this, this and this, when I get outside claps the bag to the bars and I'll be set. Seems simple to me.
