Ferrari and Exotic Spotters

...was this the one?..he drove with us at the all-lotus track day in september...

 

That may be it. I wasn't able to get a plate number to be sure, but the one I saw looked identical to the one pictured. I'm not sure how many of these are in the area, but this is only the second Esprit V8 that I've seen in town. The other one is/was a bright red.

 

...they're pretty rare; nice find...

Was just about to wash my car when I heard a couple of Supras racing down Bandera in Helotes. Soon these Supras were followed by a yellow Gallardo SE, a few Ford GTs, what appeared to be a 997 Turbo, a couple of Vipers, and an array of modded C6 Z06s. I followed the pack for a while to snap some pics while they made their way towards Bandera, TX. I turned around to head back after a while, and right when I turned around I passed by an orange LP560-4 Gallardo trying to catch up with the group. I was only able to get some pics of some of the Vettes and Supras. The GTs and Gallardo were too far up for me to catch them. It was a pretty sweet sighting.

Rosso Corsa Ferrari Challenge Stradale on FM1560 this morning on my way to school. My friend said he saw the same red Ferrari on FM471 a few minutes earlier with what he described as an "aqua colored" Ferrari 599. By the time I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and opened up the camera function, I didn't have time to zoom out on the car. So all you can see in the pic is the nose. Man, I need to start carrying my real camera with me.

No, being on the highway I was too far away from it. It sure looked like that car though.

 

On Thursday, the 13th of November, I rode in a Ferrari for the first time. The car was a 2004 Challenge Stradale in Rosso Scuderia. This is the same car that was spotted and mentioned earlier. From my point of view as a passenger, I must say that that car is incredible in every way. These cars are really capable of things that most cannot imagine; and the feeling of the rush and g-forces are as equally mythical. But this car isn’t a thing of fantasy. It’s a reality that is there for people who are willing and working to grasp the opportunity of owning and driving one of these incredible machines. I'm glad that I was able to get a taste of the Ferrari experience and thank all owners who share the passion with other enthusiasts. I look forward to being one of these owners one day and sharing the experiences myself. Thanks to the driver of this car for having the willingness to share such an experience. Now I want a Ferrari even more.

Hey Tyler, I'm just seeing this for the first time now, pretty cool that I was spotted.

Thanks for the nice write-up, feel free to post the rest of the photos if you want. It was nice to meet you, glad I could give you a little experience of what the car is about, would have been nice if we could have taken a ride out to the hill country so I could show you what the car is really capable of but I would have gotten lost for sure! We'll likely be back next year, you are welcome to a ride in either car once again.
