AMAZING car. I was really impressed by this one -- the build quality, the looks and ergonmics of the interior -- my new favorite car (for the moment). We did our part to keep the owner out of trouble by installing a custom Valentine 1 radar in conjuction with two K40 laser diffusers. Enjoy...

    Nice! Lookin' good...!

ps -- Anthony...I'd be ever-so-slightly careful about your logo. I know there are Mercedes corporate people who read these forums and if the wrong person sees this you will get very angrily sued for copying the Maybach logo.

We got an angry series of C&D letters from BMW just for using the -actual- M5 logo on our rental page (when we were renting the M5). Just a warning...don't want anyone to invite unnecessary expenses in the form of lawsuits, especially these days...

Noah -- thanks for the transports to and from the dealer to my store. Your guys are great!!

We went through the whole MBZ threat of a lawsuit BS already. The logo differs from the Maybach -- ours is an MW interlaced as opposed to their MM logo. We thought about changing it, but, truthfully, we like it. From what I have heard BMW and Porsche are THE WORST when it comes to using their logos.

    Keep in touch...

    Anthony

Be careful though, now that you're on notice they an argue it's willful infringement and go for extra damages. And looking at your logo, and that you're in the auto accessories industry, I think you are in a bad position. They have a bit of time to build up now...

    Nice install.
Love the R8, is that the stock rear view interior mirror?
Did the V1 remote install behind the mirror alter the auto-dimming feature of the mirror?
Where is the head unit mounted?

    Thank you.

    Looks nice.

Does the mirror install cut the range of the V1? Also, does the K40 work that far away from the typical shoot-point for the laser?

    Mac,

Yes it is the OE rear view mirror -- though, obviously, modified. In this specific vehicle the auto-dimming feature is fully retained. In 90% of vehicles it is not effected. The actual V1 unit itself is hidden away in the vehicle.... can't get too specific.

    Emil,

As far as the V1's radar detecting capablities -- no these are not diminished. Due to the nature of the install you will want to use this in conjunction with atleast one laser diffuser though. According to K40 (and from what I have seen first hand) the diffuser will work from any typical operating distance. In a nutshell, if the cops laser can work from that distance, so will the K40 diffuser.

    Murray,
Glad you like it. No need to drive anywhere -- I'll send an enclosed transport to pick up your vehicle. When the work is done we'll deliver it back to you, again via enclosed transport, and I will personally come meet with you to go over everything. No need to go anywhere.

    215MPH -- PM sent.

i still dont get why people put the remote display's in the rear view mirror...kinda defeats the point right? cops can sit it right through the back.

    cars lookin great tho!

beautiful car and an unobtrusive install. I got to pick that one up! :)

Though I heard from the Audi dealer that Valentine just sold a new technology to the NJ state police that beats all current valentine systems....

No offense...but that has to be the stupidest thing I've heard in quite a while.

What Audi dealer told you that?

Mike Valentine selling technology to defeat his own system is highly unlikely...

I highly doubt mike valentine sold technology to the dark side....and if he did, what would it be? a whole different band of radar???? i mean the V1 picks up everything (including all the crap you dont want it to pick up ie. automatic doors and those STUPID inifity's that set off the laser)
