You did post those because I remember seeing the tail end of the Jalpa and asking for more pics that you have not posted! I always liked the Jalpa! LOVE the Paul's btw too!

So, I went to Collings Guitars today. They looked at the OM1 and said, yep that is where they break if they are going to break. No problem... Few hundred dollars (depending on how perfect you want it) and you will be back in business. SA-WEET!

Then I made the mistake of asking if they ever make cutaway acoustics... Not many, but yea we make them... Hey, we have one right here that had some kind of an issue with the binding that I can't seem to find right now, check it out... CRAP! Guess what I bought?! Yea, my pocket book is a little lighter, but I don't have to go w/o playing a Collings for the next 2 months anyway.

I'll shoot some pics of it this weekend and post them...Oh, wait...I'll have to join I guess because I am out of free memory space for posting pics... Ok, I'll spend some more money and actually JOIN this merry band. Anyway, it is the SJ model and it sounds even better than my OM1!!! I LOVE IT!

    Just found this post.

I had this created in my flavor as shown with some inlay, stage shots during and final: Call it my CA guitar. I know, not the same but my flavor. Back side has much more inlay, but leaving out...too personal. Have a couple other like a 12 and bass done. Solid body/top with Klein design on 12 string [awsome Luthier and inlay artist in Sonoma]

Not a true classic, but for my kids....it'll be their classic :)

Interesting how one thing leads to another. I was browsing those auctions and came across a listing for the dress worn by Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie. I recalled that when I bought my Rickenbacker Bass, the prior owner had a "People" magazine issue which had a picture of himself and the Bass. They did a feature on some local musicians. I always wanted a copy of that magazine to go with the Bass. All I remember was that there was a picture of Dustin Hoffman as Tootsie on the cover. So, thanks to the magic of the internet, I went to the "People Magazine" website and I was able to download that particular issue by searching for "Tootsie."

So, just as I had remembered from 20 years ago, the picture was there!

So, I have the digital version, but it would still be nice to have the real version. Now that I know the Issue number I can probably get the magazine off E-pay.

thank you, funny how things work out. i actually just got it back last night, a buddy of mine who is an avionics guru went through the whole amp and using correct parts, rebuilt/rewired the whole thing! i played it for some time last night, but i like my Yorkville / Traynor and fender Blues Junior better. i am going to sell the champ in the local paper / craigs list. if anyone here wants it, pm me soon. $475.00 and its gone, i spent that much on parts and labor, but at least its alive again. we did add a tube bias to it, and tuned the tubes for a long service life . i just put some Sovtek 12a7xls tubes in my Traynor, and they made a big difference in the sound.

Something not right about this, PAP. $185k per guitar, average?. Doesn't sound right to me. Sure a '58 LP will go for that kind of money and more but I can't imagine all of these are worth that much. Or maybe some ex-SRV/Jimmy Page/Hendrix/etc guitars are in there? But why is there no description of anything? Hmmm....

I have a blackface champ like that. And a tweed one also. These are easy and fun to work on, though it looks like you have yours all fixed up now. When I redid mine, I couldn't locate the can cap, but now they are available, so putting a can cap back in mine is on the 'to - do' list.

cool! we bought the whole modern upgrade package for both the Champ, and my Blues Junior. they both have better ceramic tube sockets, bias controls, and top of the line tubes. the Champ is just too quiet, and has no reverb. the blues junior is better at low volume than my 4x10 Yorkville 80Q .

i need to get a pedal, perhaps a POG like jack White uses. i pm'ed EC308 for some advice, as i know nothing about pedals, other than my poor beat up Vox whah.

Anyone see the Collections show on Wealth TV last night? Very cool show talking about collecting guitars. I am a collector by nature and tried to learn how to play guitar, but not successful with lack of time. I am fascinated by this hobby though. I know collector guitars have just gone through the roof, have people seen a softening of the market lately? They mentioned on the show 1958-1960 Les Paul's being worth $150-500k!?! What is that market looking like now?

Just jumping in and have not spent the time to read all of the posts, but did cruise a few and did see some very nice guitars. I have had my eye out for a Gibson L5 for quite some time. From 1970 to 1974, I worked in a music store (age 10-14). Started sweeping and ended selling. The shop carried all the Gibson guitars and I remember them all, including the Fender Precision bass that was priced new at $307.50. IMO, the L5 is timeless and would be a welcome item in my house!
