Besides iTunes, what are some more sites where you can purchase music? I can't seam to get iTunes to download on our computer. Once it is finished, I get an error message, something about Quick Time not loading right or something like that. I have sent e-mails to iTunes, got a few responses, but nothing that will help so I am getting rid of them!

Hey, you got that quicktime problem too? I fixed it by installing iTunes 7 Point something. Although I didn't/don't use the store, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    Hope it works! :)

Yea, and it is a pain in the butt, because I used to use iTunes a lot to make CD'S (really tired of the same old same old on the radio) I went to download the latest version and I got that error. I deleted it from our computer about 20 times and retried it, same thing. I even got an e-mail from them that sent me to this link and it said to do the same thing, so I have given up on them!

Yea, I tried re-DLing with no results, but installing an older version worked just fine. Heres a link:

Also, if you do/have given up on iTunes, try rhapsody, the Microsoft music store.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that can't get Itunes to work. Same error as you're both describing. For the time being I've just been using Windows Media Player.

I would defferently give utorrent a try, i used it for videos only though, and it's never let me down and never had any problems with virus's. As long you have a good virus scanner you'll be fine too. But if you don't won't to download illegally then Sony's Sonic Stage is good i used it before i got my ipod. It is quite usless for films and TV shows though, which i think is where Utorrent excels.

If you want to fix iTunes make sure that you have the latest Quicktime release, iTunes won't run without it.

If I am installing the latest version of iTunes, then it should have the latest version of Quick Time, right? Well I have tried that about 20 times already and also sent an e-mail to iTunes. They sent me to a post that told me to delete iTunes from my computer and Quick Time and reinstall it, so I did it, still keep getting that same error. I tried to do what Zahiba had said and install a different version (7.6) and guess what, yea you guessed it, I still get the same error! Thats the same error that I get every time I try it and it seams like it doesn't matter what version I install, this always shows up.

Here are a few links I have found on that error, see if any work.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1875

Try to uninstall iTunes and QT and then install the stand alone version and then try to install iTunes again, or go back and install the last version that worked.

You should be able to find a lot of alternatives to iTunes like Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, etc.

Well, it looks like Rhapsody and Napster you have to pay a monthly fee to be a part of it. I don't mind that, but I would rather have a site where you pay as you purchase. Amazon, it looks like you only pay when you buy something and if I'm not mistaken iTunes is still the same way, isn't it? I am going to wait for there e-mail and see what they say this time about fixing that error, if they don't solve it this time, I am going with Amazon.

Are you a college student? If so, you can download Ruckus and use it for free. The downside is that you can't put the music anywhere unless you pay a fee, but if you want to just listen to your music for free on your computer, than I suggest Ruckus.

I got the e-mail from iTunes and here it is, pretty much the same BS that they sent to me the last time. I am putting it on here because maybe some of you other guys will have better luck than I did. I pretty much did everything that I could think of to get it to work, but no success.

Quick Time is required to run iTunes. Please reinstall iTunes.

That is the message that I get every time I install iTunes. I have tried different versions, nothing works, I still keep getting that error message. I have taken everything that has to do with iTunes off of our computer, including Quick Time, and tried to reinstall iTunes. I still keep getting this error! I sent you guys an e-mail about 2 weeks ago about the same issue and you sent me back a link that I could go to and solve the problem. It didn't work, it pretty much said to install iTunes but with a different version of Quick Time. I find it really hard to believe that there isn't anyone that works at iTunes that can solve this problem. I know it doesn't happen to everyone that downloads iTunes but for the ones that it does happen to it seams like there isn't any help for. We get the same old answer every time we e-mail you guys and the same old answer doesn't work........
