I've decided to take one for the team haha I know where Mr Whittaker lives soo hopefully this weekend I'm going to Kindly ask him if I can see the car and get some Snap shots of it(Possibly a ride lol don't count on that though). It is amazing that he has had it since New and yet no photos have been taken of it! I'm sure if I ask politely he'll be kind enough to let me take a peek
Josh, that is awesome!!! But just some advice (in my opinion) do not ask for a ride, if he is kind enough to let you see the car, he may be willing to offer a ride, asking for a ride will not sway him to take you for one, but it might sway him not to. If he is thinking he might take you out, let him decide to do that. Just from my experience, I enjoy letting people look at my car (not that it is even anywhere near the same league as the car we are discussing) but if someone asks me to take them for a ride, depending how it is asked, it normally results in no ride being given. Remember, this guy has an F1, plenty of people would ask him for a ride, very few will have been in it and of those that have very few of them will be a result of asking. People asking for a ride gets old fast, taking people for a ride when they are grateful just to be able to look never gets old. Sort of like making someones day as apposed to being asked to make my day. Good luck with this brother, it will be legendary if you get to see it. Take a peanut slab with you.......
Haha yeah I know what you mean. If he feels like it then he'll most probably offer, but your right no one wants to be nagged about such things. Hey I'd be happy just to see the car haha My favorite supercar. Exactly, Something I hope to be able to do one day in the future(It's all about the smiles on the faces ) Haha hey your car isn't exactly minor leagues, one of the best looking(if not the best looking) ferrari's ever. Hi Abit of info.. The plate MCLF1 (SA9AB5AC1R.......) in NZ is now on a silver/grey 1994 F1 Mclaren, a cars owned by a certain wealthy businessman in Auckland.(Owner is a company in Auckland) It was imported into NZ around 5 months ago from Germany. This cars kept in Auckland also, its got no wof right now! The owner is a keen car collector whos into porsches alot. Cheers Shane
I havent seen the Carrera GT personally although it wouldnt surprise me as there was talk from him a while ago of getting one.. I know he has the latest 911 GT3 RS.. and thats damn fine! among others. he did abit of race car driving ahile ago in germany in a porsche also..forget what type of race it was..??.. Cheers
The carrera gt was down here in wellington ages ago when they had recently renovated the porsche show room, They had it on display. Awesome car and the only one in the country I believe?
Think there are a few more, 3 or 4. Giltrap has one still i think (Silver), one that im talking about ( Silver, lives in Westish Auckland ), and there is at least 1 other somewhere in the country. Does the guy with the McLaren also live in Hong Kong F355Man? Import/ exporter or someting?
Hi Wow I didnt know there were at least 4 around? quite alot considering the size of NZ and what they are worth. Most of the time hesd based here in auckland, lives in Herne Bay area..but does travel abit. He made most of his money in the travel industry.. He may have a place in Hong Kong im not sure..I do know he has a private jet that hes always using to travel! Cheers
There are 2 McLaren F1's here, and have been more in the past. 4 CGT's comes as little surprise to me. Great value IMO.
Yeah, this would seem right and they both the same color I think. The only other one was a blue one an XP4 (experimental prototype) it was green orignally, owner in NZ had it painted blue and had the interior redone. It was imported/bought through Giltraps years ago..was hardly ever driven maybe 2 or 3 times a year! the owner, a wealthy indian businessman sold it about 5 years ago to a guy in california. Cheers S
By the way James, your car looks great still! I miss my old F355.. Do you still have the yellow F355? I knew the 1st owner of your car, he looked after it very well actually he hardly drove it he did something like 5k's during the 5 years or so he owned it! Cheers S
