Pre-selections just announced. This should prove most interesting as Penske has never taken the Spyders to the 24 Hour - his cars are back with the factory now; Van Merksteijn no longer exists nor does Team Essex so that basically leaves one P2 car of Horag. Vitaphone can't run their MC-12 in GT1 - last year they ran an Aston. GT1 in ALMS is a gonner after LeMans. Will Corvette have the backing of GM with the current state of affairs or will P & M have to carry the load? Team Modena is moving to Ferrari. Only two RSR pre-selects in a sea of Ferrari. It will be interesting to see who in the pre-selects responds to the January deadline - then the fun begins with the slots being filled! Congratulations and best of luck to Risi for a 2009 24 Hour Repeat!

Our Le Mans entry is for the DBR9 in GT1, but we're planning to run Ferraris in GT2 for the Le Mans Series.

At this point NO Spyders at LeMans - NO teams to run them - Penske RS Spyders back to factory - other teams gone!

I believe it was technically a factory-supported customer program, i.e. Penske was just leasing them.

will be interesting to see what Porsche does with these cars, would be a shame to throw away an almost guaranteed class win.

Thinking the same thing here. I'll take one if they are just going to throw them out! ;)
