And another FAKE. Based on a 250 GTE 2+2 #3001 GT originally sold to Vincenzo Malagò in Rome, Italy.
Ad says "Favre" which is the name of the builder of this POOR FAKE. The biggest joke is that the description even states that the reproduction was made "with the authorisation of Ferrari"................hahahaha!

Here is a perfect example of why a Ferrari replica organization is so badly needed. One of its primary functions would be an inclusive listing of replicas so absurd claims that a replica GTO was approved by the factory. This is just the kind of thing that gives replica builders/owners, who clearly declare their cars for what they are, a bad name. The legal department at Ferrari sould file legal proceedings in this case and come down hard on such claims. If the factory would support an independent replica organization, this would do much to assist such an organization being formed and help police the practice of deception practiced by the bad guys and they are BAD GUYS. just one man's opinion tongascrew

A million dollars for a mediocre replica?! Those crazy Swiss...

(I'd rather have the original 250 GTE that got demolished to make this for 1/8 the asking price.)

William Favre got shot. Probably murdered.

Approved by factory ? Gosh, surely not. Ferrari should sue this garage full of dishonest or ignorant people.

Favre was a scoundrel, he made fakes and then later tried to make easy bucks by finding stupids and selling them the cars as "real things"...

He made little money at first.

But later was found dead, shot by a 357Mag.

Without Classiche certification, there's no way to tell the real trailer from a replica.

    +1.

In the early 80's I was headed from Paris to Geneva to see the salon de l'auto, so I called Favre the day before to ask if we could visit. I was traveling with a friend who had an Espada and his girlfriend, a fantastic very high journey in and of itself.

I could not believe his reply which was preposterous: "I would be glad to host you but I have Germaine Jackson [brother of Michqel the singer], 20 people and his snake coming to buy 5 cars so it won't be possible." That is exactly what he said....

2 or 3 days later his arrest took place and a few years later his death, rumored to have been arranged but who knows...

Kind of funny how one can jumble my words and be none the wiser. Not Marcel, but Classiche and replica.

I had missed this thread until recently reactivated, as it was before I joined Fchat.

Another 156 project is at Steve Hart's, Norfolk, UK.

It has an original 156 engine & I think gearbox casing, and many other original parts, and most importantly factory drawings, which were collected by the late Jim Allington the well known cutaway car drawing illustratrator who got on well with Enzo. I was negotiating with his widow about 5 years ago to either buy the project outright or to fund the restoration and divide the ownership of the finished car. We didn't proceed but I spoke to Steve Hart a year or so ago and it was apparently progressing. Chassis & body were done and it was on it's wheels. The main big jobs as I remember were engine & gearbox internals.

Another query: I seem to remember a '156' in the Sclumpf museum. What is that made up of??

That's a 156B car of 1963 with S/N 0004. It still had a ladder frame of tubing but was improved as far as rigidity and reduced dimensions.
