A Scud got wrecked today. Went with a friend to a driving experience in Charlotte. Some guy in the morning group hit the throttle hard, spun, then reacted by slamming the brakes. The car wound up tagging the side of a bridge which tore up the driver's side and broke the driver's front wheel. No word on suspension or if the car is totalled, but it looks bad.
    Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.
Needless to say, my friend and I were pissed....

lol Mr. Biggs I guarantee you the car was not the silverstone one, as I cleaned that one today :). I am curious though what color or even if you know who's car is it as i know not many have been sold in our local market and I am pretty sure i know most of were they are.

Impossible to spin out of control with manettino set in Sport or even Race .
That guy must've played with the setting and obviously changed it to CST off.
If that's the case ,he is one hell of a prick and the owners of Driving Experience (who don't allow manettino changes) should sue his arse.

It is not impoosible at all - all the driver has to do is brake past the braking point into the turning point then abruptly take his foot off the brake - the rear will quickly come around - the computer will not be able to compensate - did it at Sebring at 90 mph - actually it was a blast since I was lucky and did not hit anything

Yea, this was World Class Driving. I have been in contact with one of the instructors with that group since my drive in that same car last weekend (as well as the rest of the fine stable they brought to Texas) and he indicated that the car was wrecked this weekend... It was the first time he had NOT ridden with the drivers all weekend. He was NOT AMUSED! It was probably not another rich guy over his head btw, but a poor car guy wishing he was Schumacher but figuring out the hard way he is just a putz behind the wheel and incompetent to boot!

It is a dark gray metallic color...not sure what that is in Ferrari speak... Great car! At least it was a great car!

You use a better choice of words.
My point was that you have to do something really stupid or reckless to get this car out of whack......

Just got an email from the instructor. He said it was the first time he had been out of that car all weekend and the client crashes it... That said, he didn't ride in the Scud with ANYONE last weekend when I drove. He was in the SLR...it had a recent alignment done to it and it was acting diabolical! I think it was trying to kill anyone in it so he rode in that one to help keep folks on the road.

Anyway, he said that they replaced the two left wheels/tires and he drove it home, so looks like some body work is all that will be needed to get it back looking like new and driving like new. That is good news! Of course the better news is that no one was hurt in the first place...

As an employee of World Class Driving I have a little inside information on the state of our poor Scuderia. The car is being transported privately up to Classic Coach in New Jersey where all of the work will be completed. From a coworker on the ground the visible damage is...

    Front Bumper
    Front Left Wheel
    Front Left Suspension
Possible Crack of Front Left Brake Rotor (CC)
    Left Front Caliper
    Left Front Radiator
    Left Side Skirt
    Left Front Fender
    Left Front Wheel Well
    Left Door
    Left Rear Fender
    Left Rear Wheel
    Rear Bumper

    (Left being driver's side)

Luckily we happened to have two replacement wheels on our transporter so we were able to get the car back to the truck (within 10 mi of start location). Apparently the left front wheel had 7/10 spokes broken all the way through.

Due to possible legal consequences I can't go into detail on how the accident happened.

Company policy is not to allow any of the Ferraris (F430 Coupe, 599 GTB, and Scuderia) to be driven in "Race" mode due to the relaxation of the traction control.

Hopefully the damage is only cosmetic and can be fixed relatively easily. I will speak with the owner of the company tomorrow and see if I am allowed to put pictures up here.

    -Alex
