RS is a little lighter with less creature comforts than standard GT3. RS is track focused and rarer than the standard 3. If you track A LOT go for the RS if not the standard fare will be the ticket....

GT3RS has the C4S coupe body which is slightly wider in the back (by less than one inch I think)...........other than that, what he said.......

Over here you can buy a GT3 and basically save tens of thousands (based on US pricing). I would not buy a GT3RS unless they were $10-15K more than a GT3........not $30-50K more like they are now. The value just isn't there IMHO when referring to the US cars. I don't now about your market.

The Euro cars get the funky one piece seats, factory roll bars....etc....etc......we have to buy that stuff afterwards for stupid money and put it in.

    Neat car however.

Thanks, I am geting into Porsches world. So basicaly its like 360 versus Stradale? I saw the roll bars, some carbon, etc. on EU RS cars - i realy like this. In terms of performance are they realy same?

I found also GT3 Clubsport which is about same price as GT3 but with roll bars,CF seats like RS. Now i wonder what is difference between Clubsport and RS. Maybe only the weight?!

    No, GT3 = Challenge Stradale Light, GT3RS = Challenge Stradale full-on. :)

if you want the full on assault machine gt2 is the call.........it really is the über porsche in the current lineup. at a price though. most people with a gt2 budget go for the italian cars.
with a gt2 you will get a track monster that is also very street capable.

if you prefer the NA versions and plan to keep the car the RS is the way to go. it's a rather rare car and will always be special. 9/10 drivers will not be able to extract the difference in track performance out of gt3/gt3RS. on the road thy perorm the same.
the RS also has a lighter clutch that allows the engine to rev faster, yet comes with some rattle that might be annoying on the street.

think twice before going for the rollbar etc....it does limit the cars use and makes it even stiffer on the road.

it really depends on how you plan to use the car but i would say gt2 > gt3RS > gt3..............daily driver road use turbo is king......

The GT3 is more car than most can handle. Unless you are an extremely agressive driver on mountain roads or track the car... stick with the gt3. Otherwise you are paying 40-50k for the RS badge, colors, and a bunch of stuff you will never use. Most people, even very aggressive or sporting drivers, will never use 85-90% of a GT3... so call it 75-80% for a gt3rs. For most people its a waste of money. Unless you are completely taken over by the heritage of the RS cars, you love the colors etc... stick with the gt3. it will be one of the best cars you will ever own.

Thanks for comments. I will study the cars now during winter. GT2 is just too much money for me, beside i read interesting article and test between GT2/Turbo/GT3 and even on terms of power was clear GT2 winner, absolut winner was GT3 like realy hardcore car for reasonable money.

Regarding the colours, check these GT3 clubsport`s. They look exactly same as RS and cost as standard GT3. As i mentioned above they also come with CF seats and some other RS stuff. I am totally in love with the black one with orange wheels :) So it means you can get even standard GT3 with colours, etc. of RS.

However i currently own 360 and realy wish to have CS. Not neccessary say that CS is hardcore version of 360 but totally different. So question is if similar difference is between GT3 and GT3RS. Looks like not.

gt3 was absolute winner in terms of price/performance. however, you cannot compare a gt3 to a turbo or gt2. the turbo is all out faster than a gt3 except for the track. some peopole favour the gt3 over the gt2 for it's NA engine and more linear power delivery.
however, the t2 is really an assault weapon. massive power and ultimate suspension for track use. drive a gt3 after you have driven a gt2 and you think you are in a base carrera s.

if i were you, i would pay the premium and hop into the gt3rs. it's the real deal and more exclusive (numbers) than the standard gt3. both are great cars and the rs is just that tad more exclusive.

do yourself a favour and try to have a spin in a gt2......you will be astonished at the caliber of car it is.....

differences are minimal. rs is sunroof delete, 1 inch wider rear, light weight flywheel, stripe on steering wheel, about 40 lbs lighter, bigger rear wing, small front diffuser, additional adjustment on suspension. i think thats it for about $35000 extra. doubt anyone other than pro can tell difference driving them. just another way to maximize profits, imo.

if comparing to ferrari 360/cs or 430/scud then for porsche it would be gt3 or rs/carrera. both the gt3 and gt3rs are the track versions of carrera

Too bad in the N.A. market, we will never see the real unrestricted club sport P cars.

The biggest difference between the standard GT3 and the RS is the lightweight flywheel in my opinion...it transforms the car into a free revving beast thats a joy to take up through the rev range. I recommend this as a must do mod to standard GT3's. The tach just flies over.

I had a white 997 GT3 for a few months before I was offered an orange RS at msrp by my dealer last december...it has been a wonderful car and I hope to keep it and pass it on to the kiddos someday...just a tremendous car to get in and have a blast around.

Other than that, wider rear, flat rear wing, graphics, and a few other subtle differences.

No, I moved it in August...got lucky timing wise as things went south economy wise a couple of months later. Hope to find a nicer example down the road...probably for less it seems.
