I don't want to hear what his excuse is. I don't want to hear anything out of his mouth because it's it's just going to be another excuse on why he lost. He will never admit he lost fair and square. That dude got WHOOPED. He quit Mike Tyson style after the 7th. He needs to retire and go away.

The Dream Match? No quite. Unless your dream was to watch Oscar get used as a punching bag for 7 rounds.

This about sums up the whole fight...

I have not seen all of his fights, but it's hard to imagine he got an asswhoopin worse than tonight's bout.
Who know's what happened; he looked stunned by Manny P. after 10 seconds into the first round.

I would like to think he'll come back. His fight with Mayweather was a great match.

Tonight's performance was sad. It would have been worse if he was KO'ed

He admitted after the fight that he couldn't take anymore. He realized the better man won with no excuses. He will officially announce his retirement very soon...

Well when they were interviewing him after the fight, he said that when a seasoned veteran loses to a young guy, you've gotta know when it's time to quit.

I give him props for going out there, but Pac is waaay to quick.

I was shocked!!!! I REALLY thought Pac wouldn't get past the 5th. rd!!! Man was I wrong. I know Pac is AWESOME but comm'on, going up 3 weight classes (diaz fight was 135lbs.) +2 weights... Pretty much a Leonard/Hagler situation to me. Time to hang up the gloves Oscar!

Long as he gets 8 digit pay days, then keep getting pounded. fans will stop paying that much money after a few of these though.

No kidding! I heard someone talking about Oscar earning more money than anyone else in the history of boxing. Something in the neighborhood of $300m. If that's accurate, WOW!

Dude, did you see Manny at the weigh in? He might have went up 3 weight classes, but it's not like he showed up fat and bloated. The dude looked totally ripped. I knew right then that Oscar was going to get destroyed. He has been looking old and slow the past couple years. I have seen Manny fight and he the dude is lightning fast, he's a brawler and he destroys his opponents. Oscar never stood a chance.

I figured Oscar would go down within 3 rounds. The guy wears fishnets.

    Not quite.

The fight was stopped by the one person on his team (Nacho) who possessed the ability to accept what couldn't be changed, and had the courage to do something about it. If you watched carefully, at the end of the 7th, he TOLD (not asked) Oscar that he was going to stop the fight. This is the point at which any good trainer looks intently into his fighter's eyes and weighs the fighter's response. Howls of protest from Oscar, and Nacho would have allowed one more round. But Oscar sat expressionless, embarrassed & humiliated, knowing full well that he was beat. In fact, Nacho stopped this fight in a superbly timely manner, because the old champion was starting to allow a right-hand check hook and left-hand leads to come in flush (tried by Pac brilliantly in the 5th & 6th rounds) and there is no question that with 5 more rounds still to go Oscar would have suffered a brutal knockout. Accordingly he owes his trainer for being merciful just in time and allowing him to exit his career with some shred of dignity and all his faculties (hopefully) intact....

I am not a betting man but I wish I was. Having followed the fight game for many years and knowing the stuff Pac is made of, I was one of those who prayed for Oscar before the fight. As it turned out, it could have been a lot worse. As for the fight itself, I would rate it as a mismatch, although Pac's display of speed and accurate combinations was in itself a boxing exhibition worth watching. A truly great champion.

a lot of that comes from his golden boy promotions company, he does all of his own promos, plus a lot of other fights as well.

I watched this fight in shock horror!! :p:p

I mean, I know the Pacman is awesome, but I still thought Oscar being the bigger man would have dominated this fight like he did the Forbes fight!!:eek:

Pacman made a fool out of Oscar, that pretty much sums it all up IMO! I predicted this would go to 12, with Oscar winning on points. This was NOT the case and Oscar's career just took another blow........its time to hang em up mate!! :):)

Also, you should have seen how many Philipino's were watching this fight at one of the local Pub's with me! I have NEVER seen so many Philipino's watch a boxing match before in my life! It was pandamonieum!! They were cheering and jumping around like crazy throughout the entire fight and it made for a great atmosphere!! :p:p

Pacman is a national hero in the Philipines and I wont be suprised if he gets sworn in to become the Philipino President when he returns home!:eek:
