i'm contemplating getting an airstream for some on and off- road trips, and i wondered if there were any owners/fans of the silver bullet in this group...
any thoughts on size [there will be 1 or 2 "residents"], floor plans, one or two axles and % of gvwr relative to tow vehicle for safety would be greatly appreciated.
also favorite routes/destinations that you've traveled.pics if you got 'em,especially if you tow with an enzo..

This sucks:( I thought a handful would have chimed in with comments and pics. From what I have seen, these trailers are pretty classy and those with disposable income would be the buyers.

I'm not into the RV scene, but if I was it would be in an Airstream. A classic piece of 20th century American design.

good luck on your travels and don't forget to post pics!

They made a coach too - even more reason to enjoy it going down the road.

My in-laws have a 34 foot Airstream. I do not remember the model designation. I think it is an Excella. It is one heavy sucker. They towed it with a one ton Ford cargo van with a 460 V8. It has a bed on each side just behind kitchen with a nice bath/shower on the left side and another bed in the rear.. The front sofa area wraps around nicely and will allow for about 8 people to sit around and play dominoes or whatever the Good Sam Club group does. They took a three month tour leaving from Big Spring, Texas and traveling west on I-20 to California then up north into Canada. They traveled across Canada to Nova Scotia then down the east coast to Florida and back to Texas. It was quite an adventure for them. They did it about 5 years before my father-in-law passed away. I am glad they got to do it....

My mother-in-law still owns it but it has not moved in about 6 years. I am sure it needs some TLC to bring it back into good touring condition.

It is the one in the rear being pulled by the white van.....

For what your going to pay for an Airstream, you can get one hell of a lot of Hotel rooms, with a shower you can move around in.
