I recently had a battery go dead that I believe was caused by my passenger side window not closing all the way when the door was shut. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Is it a problem with the motor that lifts the window and if so has anyone replaced it themselves or is it better handled by a dealer? I have only had the car (2000) for a month and it is now put away for the winter and probably won't be back out for close to four months. I am new to the F-chat and appreciate any help.
    Thanks!

Interesting, how did you find out its caused by window´s motor. How the battery went dead?

Is your car a spider? The spider window opens about one inch just before you pull the door open and similarily closes the final inch when the door is shut. More information on your window issue would be interesting.

Dead batteries are not uncommon on the 360, many use a battery conditioner to keep them topped up because security and trackers pull a bit out of them. If the previous owner left the battery discharged for a long period, the battery could be u/s.

my passenger windows has done this occassionally also.. sometims it closes correctly sometimes it stays open a bit.. I resolve this by opening and closing both doors over again and the window closes property..

Not sure if it is a faulty motor or what.. but the windows go up and down perfectly fine so I would say the motor has plenty of juice.. more likely an odd wack that you should come to expect from these cars.. I am not going to bother taking it in for this issue unless the window closing issue can't be resolved by simply opening and closing the doors again..

Previous owner said that he thought the window lift motor was the cause. He said the motor was still trying to push the window up and that is what was probably draining the battery. I don't know for sure but just wanted to see if anyone else experienced the same problem

Car is a coupe. Funny thing is is that after I hooked up the battery charger, as soon as I plugged it in the window lowered the inch it normally does when you open it. I thought that was strange since the battery was dead. Maybe it was caused by the initial jolt of juice from the charger? Battery is now charged & I am planning on putting a trickle charger on it for the rest of the winter. Thank you for the info!

Be careful starting your 360 with a weak battery...I also had a battery problem and when I tried to start it the air bag sensor latched a fault and now I have to find a way to clear the code or pay a dealer to hook up an sd2 service tool. If you don't use the car often you should hook up a trickle charger and keep it conditioned in the off months.I put a new battery in it and installed the charger...problem 1 solved and on to problem 2.

Doubtful. The motor drives the window up and down. The motor also handles the door opening sequence. The motor would burn out in a hurry is it was sticking and their was current going to it. If you restrict a motor and push current through it. It'll blow in minutes or hours. Not days or months. And it won't drain the battery.

As stated before, look to stereo's, alarms, lack of driving or faulty battery.

A quick check will tell you if

    A. The battery is taking a full charge
    B. The charging system is delivering full voltage

    Then you look to C.
    Something that's draining the battery.
