I have a question regarding a padle shift car jumping out of gear (seems to be 5th or 6th and this causes it to over rev). Can you recalibrate a throw out bearing by letting the Ferrari idle for 5 minutes while the car is in first gear-1 foot on the brake pedal? I am not sure if the battery was disconected and then reconnected prior to this act, or if that even matters at all. It did not work, just wondering if it is plausable. A previous post consencious indicates this is a clutch going out.

PIS is set by SD2 or SD3.

Your clutch is gone. If you get a person to check with SD2 you will see at least 5.5mm of wear on the clutch, that means pop out of gear 5 and 6th.

There is a procedure for 360's fitted with the earlier transmission control units to reset the PIS after the clutch has been changed. I very much doubt that this will do you any favours though, as the others have said it sounds like your clutch has expired.

The clutch wears 5.5mm from its original thickness? Seems excessive. Wouldn't let mine get near that, although I'd imagine it's not easy to do either.

The 5.5mm I get from the New clutch closed postion from the self calibrated closed clutch postion on the scanner.

The diagnostic unit should show the wear figure expressed as a percentage, calculated by the clutch position sensor. On the earlier cars the new clutch closed position shouldn't change. That's why if you swap out the earlt tcu for a later one you should record new clutch closed position and program it into the tcu.
