    Hi Guys

I need to quote a car insurance for a customer, but this car was never sold in mexico and there is no registry of the value in the market, I was wondering if you could tell me the approximate price of the car.

    It has 50,459 original miles.
the body is in good shape except for a few details in a fender, interior is in great shape also.
Someone added 19" inch wheels to the car, and it doesn´t have the original ones.

what else do you need to know to give me an estimate?

thanks in advance for your help

    WOW!!!!

Generally speaking, these are trading between $22K and $32KUSD at the moment.
Find someone with access to FerrariMarketLetter and you'll be able to get some documentation from their Asking Price Index to put on paper for your customer.

    FWIW, YMMV

Wow is right...and true on the perceived market values. However, the that "non-stock" body, wheels and interior mods, I'd subtract about $10K from the "value"...

At first look, I though that car was a "riced-out" Honda with a Ferrari body kit...Sorry!

that car is a 208 gt4 (see black instrument panel) thus worth significantly less.
I think the front treatment isn't half bad, but everything else done to the car is the result of very poor judgement.

if the car would be original, the value is better,...but for a tuning car, I don´t know...

The instrument panel is more likely fake carbon fiber than that of a 208! ;)

I've had the tail lights on my car apart a couple of times and I can't think on how I would get them to poke out like that.
The rear bumper is a euro bumper, but is the body/recess that of a US car?

There's no question that a lot of work went into this car to make it the way it is.

Integral reverse lights at rear bumper does indicate Euro...BUT there's so much else going on in there it's hard to rule on it!

Put the five digit VIN up or the whole frame stamping from the engine bay, and we'lltry to sort it out!

It's basically a $5K car with $25K of added custom work, reducing it's market value to $10K......happens all the time.

I know, it´s a horrible car, looks like some mexican Chip Foose Overhauled it with no taste.

Th sad part of the story is that my customer bought it for about $40,000usd, and needs the accurate value of the car to get insurance, and he thinks he has a car that is valued over 50,000usd!

    its a shame.
if you have more info that you can share or estimate value of the car please let me know, now I´m considering to value in about $14k.

    Thanks again

    Ever

If you post the VIN, we may be able to trace the cars history. That might help determine what's been done to it.

That changes things AFAIK. I have yet to see any real good documentation on 208 values. Maybe somebody in EU or IT could chime in, but there just arent many in the US. I do know someone with a 208GT4. I'll Email him and ask what his is valued at for Ins. and how he came about that #.

    Again....FWIW, YMMV!

Are you insuring cash value, or replacement cost?

Thanks for the laugh...my thoughts exactly but I didn't want to be rude. Fortunately, a lot of it could be reversed fairly easily with just paint and new wheels.

I don't know about values in Mexico but in the U.S. you would probably get about $10K for that car IMHO as long as it runs OK.
