Hi all. Santa was nice to me and brought me a new steering wheel. It matches the interior as it is black with red stitching. It is a new MOMO called turner, but it think its design is old style. I had to rebuild the horn button to make it fit. What do you think? Hope for a fine 2009 Mr Sweden Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks a lot better with the new stearing wheel, did you do the work your self ? the leather work looks great. Regards Roy.
That new wheel is much better! Who made the seat covers, yourself or a local upholstery shop or a shop specialized in Ferrari? Could I order someday when funds permit a pair of daytona style seatcovers like yours? The red pieces are leather or cloth or even nomex like in a GTO?
When I looked around for Daytona styled seat covers I found out that they were very expensive. In Italy they wanted as much as 4000 Euro for it, and I wanted to do more then the seats. In my naberhood here in Sweden I knew of a man who did a lot of Interior work on old US-cars from the 50:s and 60:s. ( The are very common here in Sweden in the summer time ) He took a look at the pictures that I had with me, I explained what Daytona styled seats are and what else I wanted done to the car. I left my camera with him and asked him to take pictures when he worked on them. Thanks to this wonderful forum I got the Plastic ribbons, the rest of the work he did. I helped with stripping the interior down. I seen some of the work he did on the old US-cars and I was very impressed. Nice man with his own business but he does not speak or read English. Everything done with the material I think came down to around 4000 Us dollars. If I remember the invoice correct it took him 45 hours to do the interior in my car. But the new steering wheel I of course changed myself. Hope this info clarifies what was done and a reference price. Best Regards Max
Yes, it is now in the paint shop for some tune up and respray of the back of the car ( From the doors and back) Were the old paint job was not so good. // Mr Sweden
My thoughts as well, I like the new steering wheel a lot better, I think you can have too much red. A'm thinking of doing a Daytona style in red/black for my seats when it's time to redo them, as a way to break up the all black interior, right now I just have some after-market carpets trimed in red to add a little contrast. Looks like a first-rate job. Enjoy the ride. Image Unavailable, Please Login
A tip if you do upgrade you seats or anything else when you have a black interior, is to go with red stitching, it looks so much nicer and it dont looks to red. Best Regards // Mr Sweden
A Swedish car magazine have seen my new Interior and want so make a story on my car. So with a little hope the car will be famus in Sweden. I will keep you updated on how the story goes. // Mr Sweden
