Yes folks, you heard it right, FerrariChat.com is giving away an all inclusive guided duck hunt by yours truly, FerrariChat.com's professional babysitter. Users will be scrambling to participate in this elite event. The lucky participant will be required to meet crack of crack of dawn at the FerrariChat.com HQ in Southlake at 4:30 AM or meet somewhere along 121 or George Bush between Grapevine and McKinney thereafter. The lucky as a horseshoe winner will also be wine and dined with all you can eat 7-11 hot dogs (previous day hot dogs as they don't put new ones out until 6am) and stale donuts for breakfast. We'll arrive to our hunting location around Bailey, TX about 6:00 AM to muck around the pasture **** pond until 6:50 AM legal shooting time. Not guaranteed, but bonus benefits might occur if I drink coffee that morning and you can hear me never shut up for the entire long drive there and back. Who would want to miss this!?!

Seriously, I will have 1-2 spots for FerrariChat.com users that want to enjoy a duck hunt on me. There are a few requirements as this is a dangerous sport and I am half way serious about my duck hunting.

    1) Applying user must be subscribed, sponsor, moderator, or consultant.

    2) Send me a PM with the following info...

    - When did you last take a hunter's safety course?
    - How many shells can you have in gun for duck hunting?
    - What gun and type of shell will you use?
    - When is last time you went duck hunting?
    - Why do you want to go?

I will pick a name or two from all valid entries. We might be able to do another trip in January.

    Thanks,
    rob

Well, for out of towners I will throw in a 1 night stay at the Hilton in Southlake Town Center (about 1/2 mile from FC HQ). This would be lovely for the spouses to enjoy a fine meal Friday night and shopping Saturday morning while you are out stuck in cow ****. http://www.southlaketownsquare.com/

Also forgot to mention that those who prefer to shoot with a camera and not a gun are also more than welcome (no hunting experience or license required). However, that kind of shooting will have to wait until after the feathers start flying as not to spook the working birds unless we get limit early and birds still coming in.

this is like a dream come true! Some lucky bastard is going to get to see the real 'Duck Killer' in action. From my experience don't be shy to pull the trigger with DK in the blind as he is quick on the draw & drops em dead. I might have to put my name in the hat for this one.

I'm in! You can make my Hilton reservations under "Richard Cheney"... just kidding. If you weren't so far away and I wasn't so busy, I'd love to take you up on this offer. I only went hunting as a kid, but have shot numerous small arms since and would probably get a big kick off something like this, escpecially with a fellow F-chatter.

I might send in my app. Need to make sure that weekend is free. No hotel necessary since my brother is in Ft. Worth.

I haven't been, no gun, but can acquire at least a license to attend and learn.

    Hmmm....

George Bush is convenient. You might even be able to sleep at my house and save yourself 30 miles.

I've already witnessed your rejuvenation at the hands of caffeine.

My gun holds 5. But I think 3 is the answer you're looking for.
Browning light 20. Is all I have. With shotgun shells. :)
    The week before never.
Not sure I do. But guns are cool. Shooting things is cool. And I have a new gun. Well, an old gun that I inherited.

Sounds like fun. I would probably bring a .50 BMG, because sometimes the ducks don't get all that close, and then I wouldn't have to clean it.

Opening of 2nd split of duck season always falls on the same weekend as the Toy Run, that is why I have never made it. Hunting is sometimes at its best right when the season opens. If you are interested in the Toy Run please do that and we'll try to do this again in January.

Sorry for missing the Toy Run, the duck hunt turned out good. The roster for the hunt was Choptop from Cali, FarmerDave, James from FerrariChat sponsor Norwoods, and ronr. Girlfriend reminded Choptop right when he was getting the plane ticket that they had a big family event. FarmerDave just needed to get his Hunter’s Safety and slept in. :) So we ended up with James and Ron leaving my house at 4:30 am.

The ducks were thick the first 25 minutes, which I expected. What I didn't expect is they weren’t landing upwind like they usually do, they were choosing the more open water downwind out of range. I walked down and jumped them getting a couple while that also sent them over James and Ron for pass shots. So even with them going for the open water we adapted and still got 9. All quality ducks... 6 Widgeon, 2 Green Wing Teal, and a Gadwall.

Thanks for joining me James and Ron. We’ll do this again.

it was nap nap time and the Counter Intelligence Department issued a covert action promising "pumpkin pie" to the subject in return for smiles, the plan backfired and subject was still grouchy and now DEMANDED "pumpkin pie".

Mia helped line the ducks up carrying them from the bag to the truck.

I see Tazio got to make the trip, how is he as a hunting dog?

Sorry guys, but that just doesn't look like fun to me. Sitting in a blind made from old fence sections freezing your arse off. The shooting part would be cool, but the set up, the waiting, the shivering........

That's what he was born to do, although for us a 99% family dog. Boykin Spaniels are natural retrievers and also flushers for upland birds. Just running him around the neighborhood he yanks my arm off every bird we see.

That's because you are a pansy city boy. :D Leave the manly stuff to us. Before and after hunting we get around in a drum circle and grunt loudly. :)

Always a minute from a warm cabin, expresso, and glass of wine. I do give you credit for combating all those Texans trying to ski your Colorado mountains though. :D

It's really cool walking around hip deep in freezing water playing with plastic ducks and slogging around in mud. Waders rock.
