Along with the nifty new subforums; has there been some provision to do away with the spoiler rule?

    It would sure be nice!

I agree... If someone is dumb enough to Look in the F1 section and not expect to see the results of a race, then they need 24X7 Managed Care. Lets the babies go back to the Disney site.

Agreed, it was irritating. But what prevents someone from seeing the top thread title in the F1 forum from the main menu?

I'm sure there is some way to prevent the titles of one specific forum to show up on the main page. vBulletin is such a powerful forum software, there *has* to be some feature like that somewhere, maybe through a mod or "hack", but it surely exists!

Simple rule of thumb, dont post a result or inferred related results in the title thread, or spoiler rule must still stand.

Hopefull there's something in the works to insulate the F1 latest post from the front page for those unable to stay off FChat.
The spoiler rule is just inane. This section would be so much cooler with meaningful thread titles, especially during race wknds.

    Spoiler rule is necessary.

There is zero reason why it should be done away with. It does not affect the discussion at all, it does absolutely nothing to crimp our ability to talk about whatever we want.

It only takes an IQ of 11 and the most miniscule amount of consideration of others to stick to it.

I think we could do without spoilers if we could stop posting the last topic on the main fchat forums list. There are plenty of times i want to browse fchat before i've seen the most recent race but i'm scared too. i know not to visit the racing section but since the last thread gets bumped to the top and shown on the main page it makes it hard.

Get rid of the Spoiler Rule it is just silly. If you live in a missle silo and don't want to breath fresh air then don't open the lid. Its time to responsible for yourself and just another mindless sheep.

Until "it" doesn't show up in the "home page" this *rule* is still required IMHO.

Now, on the "long & winding road" to getting these split up, there was extensive discussion of "hiding" the F1 forum - one way or another - For me, a simple "one-deep" sub-forum would be OK. Just as long as it doesn't show up at home.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

Disagreed. It's time to think of the community and not just oneself.

But then again, you probably smoke in public and yell on your cell phone. ;)

+1 The selfishness of others often astounds me. But, it’s no surprise to me that those who are the most selfish are also tend to be the most judgmental.

I don't smoke, and , I talk on a cell phone when I want to in private, not when it rings, what I have to say is no one elses business. People should be responsible for their actions, Everyone wants to blame someone or something else for their screw ups. Society has created a socity of functional retards that can't and won't think for themselves. I would rather be climbing Mt Everest, than training monkeys.

Precisely! The community would benefit from being able to have real thread titles about F1 just like the rest of the forum, instead of putting all the chatter into a silly spoiler thread, just so one individual doesn't accidentally expose himself to something offensive!

    Sorry,

    Those are the *rules*.....

Don't like 'em? Then please go away.

I'll say again, At least until they can be hidden on the home page.

Maybe if you were really really fast, you could put your spoiler into your thread title, and then quickly make a dummy thread named "Whoops, that last one may have been a spoiler".

OK, sorry. That would be bedwetting.

There's always the time-honored tradition of starting nonsensical threads with irreverent titles. Nobody will know which ones are real.

    Example:

"Massa Wins!!! Forza Ferrari!!! *Possible Spoiler*"

"Force India Finish 1-2 sharing 6 tires!"

    You tell me.

i say yes to spoiler. here's how simple it sounds :

    1) don't come to the F1 section during the middle of the race, or if u haven't watched the race yet.

    2) don't click the thread titled 'Spoiler'.

i'm not sure what people have against the spoiler rule. People from all over the world watch the race at all different times. Hell, some of us can't watch it till monday. do i have to stay out of the racing section because i want to tivo the race and watch it at my convenience? i don't get it. what is so exciting about putting the results of a race in the title?
