Seems that there are many pricing predictions on 360, 430, 5550, 575, and 595, but none on 612. Would it be around 120K soon, soon means within the next few months? There are a few in the 140's.

Since there seem to be no takers at $140k-ish,then $120k seem very plausible even now.

I found a silver 2005 F1 with 4000 miles that $125K would have bought... It did sell before I could pursue it.

I don't think $120k is far off, before we got the GranSport and bottom really fell out we saw some 612's around $150-160k. I bet that has moved down $40k.

Although I believe in the market, it is incredible that this beautiful, elegant and graceful car--V-12 and all--has fallen to this range. Amazing, the economic bubble we just went through.

the 612 is currently falling at 4-5% per month..They are selling in the $130-150K range for 2005 and 2006's..You will see them in the 120's by March. An amazing deal for such a fantastic machine.

You may see the occasional 612 under $140k but it will either be in a bad color, have a lot of miles, or have some issues. Most 612s are owned by people who don't need to sell them for other financial reasons so they aren't trying to sell them. The biggest price drops are in cars that trade in higher volumes - 360's, 430's, Gallardos, Murcielagos. Cars like 612's, 599's, Phantoms, etc. are not being hit as hard. I am not saying they are immune but they are not situations where each desperation sale sets a new floor.

what you say sounds good to me, but at some point 612's will fall in line behind 2+2 12's that came before it. $20-40k above the 456.

Everything will come down in price, especially cars. However, the 612's production is far less than that of the 8 cylinders, therefore, there is less of them on the market, but at the same time there is less demand for them. Pricing is very sensitive to color, especially, Grigio Ingrid, which takes a substantial hit compared to other colors. Additionally, 456 are relatively inexpensive, buy they are not dirt cheap. At present 456 pricing cannot be compare to 612's, they were in production for far longer and have been replaced by a new model. There is not a new model replacement as yet for the 612. Those that are suffering are those who paid oversticker for a used 430 or any other car. Several 430s are on the market are bank owned. The buyers cannot pay the loans down fast enough to even come close to the depreciation. Last year a 430 spider was in high 200's, now below 200. There is no way the buyer can catch up, and thus makes no sense to continue paying on the loan. However, if you think that is bad, take a look at aston, porsche, mercedes and bmw's. Aston of newport beach, sold only 5 cars in November, Porche is offering 911's below invoice, and bmw and mercedes are really suffering, they have incentives and promotion on all cars, including M's and AMGs. I can only take some comfort in the giant piece of humble pie that all dealers, ferrari, and the like are having to swallow. Hopefully, they had set aside reserves responsibly during the great times to ride this out.

I believe the rate of depreciation on the 612 'may' be a bit slower then its processors as a result of the low production no.'s, drivability and performance. Along with surprising performance specs it's Ferraris first ever true 2+2 that could comfortably carry four actual adults. And although the design has been a point of contention for many the reliability, drivability and performance have certainly gained the respect of the press and owners. To be continued......

I would love to add a 612 to my stable. My wife really wanted one but when we were shopping for one it was a year ago and no deals were in sight. 300K was just not worth it for us. Now that they are half we are considering getting one. We don't care if it has a lot of miles on either. When we find the right color combo we could very well strike. On the other hand the California is looking like it may end up being a contender after the initial demand dies down (if any).

I love my 612, but I think you could have said the same thing about the 456 mid way through it's run.

The one difference is that they greatly reduced the production of the 612 about a year ago, while I believe they made a lot more 456s in the later half of production. But I doubt it will make that much of a difference.

None of these cars 612, 599 or 430 are limited run cars and prices will continue to fall. It does not matter that production has slowed these are still production cars and prices will continue to fall. That is even before replacements are announced. In the last two weeks I have passed on brand new 599s at or below sticker, and multiple Scuderias at sticker. The 612 is a beautiful car but will unfortunately end up being hit harder because it has always had very limited appeal.

Patience will be rewarded with opportunities.

Yes, patience is the key, especially if you do not really need it. I want it but I do not really need it, like all of us here, I presume. I was ready a few months ago at around $150K, actually a few months earlier for $170K, and I am now really ready for $120K. If it goes under $120K, say $100K, then our world is upside down, and that is we are all realy, really in deep trouble.

So when it is at $100k the world is a mess so you don't get it?
I got mine last spring and don't regret a second of it. Life is too short.
With your reasonning you might never get one...

My friend, I may have more than you think. However, you should read between the lines in my previous comment. Your outburst has nothing to do with this thread!

A: I don't see it as an outburst.
B: I would have taken it the same way.

By your secondary retort I am not sure at this moment what YOUR point is. :)

I went to Lambo of Dallas last week. I was told that Lambo will cut production numbers next year, which should add some support to the market but it might be a few years until this happens. You would think lower production numbers would help maintain prices ( aka Enzos) but it appears the 612s are not being spared. There comes a point you have to look at it and say "Yes, it is worth less than I paid, and costs a lot to keep running, but look at all the fun I am having driving it". Kind of like marriage...

I thought that what vnttg was saying was "when prices go that low, it's time to be thinking about economic conditions of people other than yourself. We're all tied together in this world and severe deflation is indicative of a dangerously downward spiral in all areas of the world economy." I don't think he was talking about the value of our Ferraris at resale time.
