That is a fine looking model. I've heard complaints about the wheel size - while they do seema bit large, I like it quite a bit.

Yeah those wheels are a bit big, but I would love that one in my collection.
    Great score!

Very nice model, I have one as well.

Although, while cleaning the dust off, I managed to snap the windshield wiper right off..

This looks great, but I have to agree that the wheels are too big. I hope to find a "budget" MC12 that I can afford and add to my collection.

I have the normal MC12, which I think is well done. Any idea where the differences are to justify the Elite status? Also, anyone know how and if the engine cover comes off on the normal one?

mattel is the only manufacturer that makes the MC12.
the elite version, from these pics, does not seem to be all that much better than the original non-elite. That will likely suit your needs just fine.

Does anyone know where I can find a normal (not elite) MC12 for a decent price, I can't seem to find one anywhere.

Also I wonder if there's any difference between Eilte & Regular ...

Yes , the engine cover comes off in the "old" version

    here it's mine : http://www.flickr.com/photos/martin_miura/2743435316/
even the wheels center bolts are painted blue on one side & red on the other side ...

That is 1 that I definately need to put into my collection. The Elite Version that is. Don't know why, but I sold my Basic version a while back. Should have never done that!

Why is that so? I would have thought they made more of the regular version...
