Hello every one my name is Donny and i am in the market for a 99 F355 F1 and i am really excited but i want to make sure i know what i am getting my self into.

the car I'm planing on buying is in Houston at Expo Motorcars and i will need to do a ppi..i was wondering if any one can help me out with a recommendation for a good place to get a ppi.

Also i was wondering if someone in the neighborhood that knows this dealer can possibly take a quick peek at it for me since i am located in Los Angeles. i am ready to make a deal on this car.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cars-Trucks___1999-Ferrari-355-F1-Spider-JLAudio-KENWOOD-ALPINEamp_W0QQitemZ350141157771QQddnZCarsQ20Q26Q20TrucksQQddiZ2282QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_Cars_Trucks?hash=item350141157771&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245&_trkparms=72%3A727|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318 ......i like the color combo and i think its a killer price...but I'm hoping that the low price doesn't have any hidden issues. this is my 2'nd post on Fchat and this would also be my 1'st Ferrari. if you guys can help me out with any info or suggestions i would absolutely appreciate it.

here is a link to the address.

donny, i posted a reply in the 348 section about having driversourse do your PPI.

Just curious, i saw you posted that this will be your first Fcar purchase, and i was wondering how much you know about the service costs for a 355? I ask this because I would be willing to bet that this car will cost you at least $10K in service getting the major service done. Also, the wear on the seats seem to suggest that this is not a 19K mile car. I could be wrong, but it is just my .02.

Good luck on your search and even with this car. If I am out by that area, I will go in and give it a quick look-see for you. I might be out and about tomrrow so maybe then.

At that price, the car would scare me to death.

I'd agree that you're in for a major the second you buy it, and you probably need to be prepared to shell out about $15k, because once they get in there to do the belts, they're going to find all the other stuff that you should do 'while it's apart'. It also has a problem on the dash, over the passenger side air bag.

I do hope I'm wrong, as I think it's great when people get good deals. Sadly, the reality is usually the opposite.

In reality the purchase price will just be the down payment...I pass by Expo everyday and if I were you I would look elsewhere to purchase a car. Check the BBB and search this forum if you want to learn more about Expo.

there's a good reason why that 355 has been there for about a year.

I just had a PPI done at Driversource (FChat sponser). Mark, English gent, did a good job. They are located just west of downtown Houston.

What was the verdict? You moving forward? Lamborghin Houston is 2 miles away but I was absent minded about that when I posted above, sorry it slipped my mind.

Stopped into Expo and sat in this F355F1 spider. I am in the market for a F355 myself. I drive by there often and see their cars on ebay and decided to look at a few they had. Sorry to say I was very dissapointed. I've seen Honda Civics older than that in alot better shape. Paint work, filthy interior. One of there 360's in the lot has the Ferrari emblem hanging off on the back. Salesman sucked. Nobody even said Hi as I walked through the showroom. Showroom had a Lambo and 430 that looked spotless. Everything else on the lot looks like it rots outside all day.

Sorry for the negative first post but I certainly wouldn't want you to waste your time flying out.

It's no Dupont Registry but then again I don't know what you are after.
    Good Luck.

Expo has decent prices. Have Mark at Driverscource do a PPI.

I have bought a car from Expo and sold them a car. Good transactions.

It all comes down to the exact car. Does Expo do through mechanical inspections of EVERY car?....I doubt it. With that being said read the first 2 sentences I wrote.
