coool !! this p4 not going around the world but rather explore and enjoy it.....
Okay next time I send a car on a world tour I'm going with it. I just now got to sit down and see the pics, and they woke me right up. Whats the story on the 250 block? The shots are amazing James, I about fell over seeing the 1:1 cars that it came in contact with. Thank you so much. That yellow top, was that one of a kind or did he have more then one made like that?
+1 P4 will have many tales to tell. Thanks I assume you are asking about the Enzo with the yellow roof? It is one of one, the owners company have yellow roof's on their vehicles, so it has some sentimental value. Thanks !! Let's just say, it is what it is. I have been made aware of certain people on this site that object to such projects and feel so strongly against them legal action is being taken. I am happy to discuss the small details I have via PM only. In the interest of not causing problems for people.
I have sent a PM to user DHoffmann as he was wanting to get P4 next. I await his reply I hope to have the chance to grab another few shot's this weekend, one with a land mark made famous by the rock band U2.
My only worry with DHoffmann, is that he only has 55 posts. I think we need to add a rule that says you need X number of posts.
I can assure you of my credibility, as will others here, especially Roy. Roy was unable to make it to the Pebble Beach weekend in '06 and essentially I took his place, covering everything from the P4/5 unveiling to the Monterey Historics to Pebble Beach itself, and he has every one of my photos taken on that trip. (I don't share full resolution images of mine easily) I have responded to James' PM, and I look forward to receiving the P4 for it's trip around Melbourne, Australia. My biggest worry is the next step, if someone else in Australia would like to put their foot forward as the next recipient? It'd be nice to know who it's going to next before it falls into my hands. Regards, Daan
I will vouch for Daan. I've known him for years, he is solid. Though I do think it would be nice to have some sort of post requirement for folks without a high post count or someone to vouch for them.
Daan is a safe bet. Here is a update of the rules. 1. Keep the car clean and do not modify it. 2. Do not keep the car longer then 1 week. 3. Ship the car to a person you can trust to keep the car moving. 4. No pics of the car that are adult oriented. 5. Always make an effort to ship it out right away, if you cant then please ask for help to keep the car on the move. 6. When submitting a pic you must note the country and area or city the picture was taken. 7. Please keep the box the car was shipped in. If by chance the box is damaged, please replace it with a similar box. Most post offices have the box in hand. 8. You must either have 50 posts on either FerrariDiecastClub.com or FerrariChat.com Here are the current photos. http://ferraridiecast.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?p=436#436
I've run into a slight problem for my possession of the P4. When I put my name down I already had these trips planned, and had not expected for it to arrive at this point in time. I'm going to be interstate from the 21st until the 26th, and then from the 28th until the 6th of Jan. I'm not entirely sure what this would do for the P4's schedule. I'm happy to take it with me interstate for the 21st - 26th trip, I have plenty of room and time available, but I'm travelling very very light and with friends for the second trip, so taking a miniature car along would be somewhat problematic. I'm not sure about your thoughts, and whether there perhaps was someone more suitable over the Christmas period... The biggest problem I foresee in this is that I'm not sure the car will arrive in time for me to take it on the first trip - especially with christmas time mail, and if it doesn't, then it will remain boxed and untouched until the 27th, where I have a single day, and then again untouched until the 7th of the new year. I am still happy at that point to take possession, but I don't want to take it away for such an extended period of time and not show it any use, so I was thinking that possibly someone else in Australia or perhaps New Zealand might be more suitable for the christmas/new years holiday period. I'm putting this here to gauge responses, and I am sorry that this is the way that it has to happen, a bit cramped.
That's a great idea. The car will be getting a new non forum based web site with a complete list locations it has been and will then be updated 1-3 times per month granted people ship on time. If a map is made I would be happy to add it to the P4's site.
I think I have this in the correct order. It might be faster to just flag the locations. Spokane Washington US Fort Worth Texas US Dallas Texas US Montreal Canada Chicago US Maryland US Aspen Colorado US Sioux Falls South Dakota US Kansas City US Hamilton NZ
Mapped... working on figuring out how to load it in Google Earth, so I can figure up the miles traveled... updates to follow... http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=113854748156280642278.00045eac167bdab21b771&z=2 EDIT: it went roughly 6,900 miles in the States, then 7,600-odd miles from my house to New Zealand. Total traveled, to date: 14,668 miles (more or less)
Nice work Roy! It's astonishing that little car has made it so far. I hope it keeps on for a long time.
Thanks... Now that I've got the map set up, it shouldn't be too hard to add stops and additional path points to add on the miles.
I noticed Toronto, Canada was missed in your list... unless Montreal is a misprint... feels cool to have played a small part in its travels... thx for starting this up! GT
