Thought I would share some pics with you guys of a 456 interior plastic parts I recently refinished. I did 24 pieces in all. here are a few shots --some before and some after.. Done plenty of 550 jobs, but not a full 456 car yet until now..I even had little car stickers made up for the hood release since once it is stripped the symbol is gone. Enjoy..

WOW...those pieces had just turned to JUNK and you brought them back to life! Why are the so crappy to begin with. The oldest 456 is barely 13 years old (at least in the US), how the hell did they get so junky looking in such a short time? Your work is AMAZING though! They look brand new! Can't even imagine what those parts would have cost if you had called up a Ferrari dealer and asked them to send them to you!

    Excellent job!

There are many guesses as to why the stuff gets sticky and gooey. I believe it has alot to do with UV light and sun exposure. 13 years isn't nothing. I just did door handle buckets on a 2006 F430.. They were disgusting, sticky and nasty just after 2 years......

I was just thinking, and I'm aware of some of your other work. Isn't there a way to source a translucent plate so that we don't loose the lights?

    Just really curious.

    Great job regardless.

Sounds like the Italians need to go back to the drawing board with how they make plastic parts! The Germans are not very good but their stuff is MUCH longer lasting than this stuff in cars costing 2X 3X more money... that is just sad, but I am glad you are out there to make it right because someday I will probably need your help!

Nice work on the resto, but...

This is really appalling. A 2006 F430?! I understand how maybe something was wrong with the plastic in the 348 (first Ferrari to have a lot of plastic bits), but after 20 years it's beyond inexcusable.

I've had three Honda Civics with black plastic interior parts that held up fine for years, and two of them were parked outside most of the time.

That said, I had an early Merc SLK where the red-colored plastic flaked off in the interior, so maybe plastic quality has an inverse relationship to vehicle price.
