Received this email today from FNA. I guess they're adopting a pre-certification process like Porsche? I guess everyone got this one even though we already own a Ferrari?

    Dear Jon,

Becoming a Ferrari owner is easier than you think.

With the launch of the new Ferrari Certified Pre-Owned program, now referred to as Ferrari Approved Certified Pre-Owned, you can purchase your dream car with confidence and have the added benefit of protecting your investment with coverage underwritten by Ferrari. Through rigorous inspections by authorized technicians along with exclusive program benefits, the purchase and ownership experience is seamless and easy for all.

The newly enhanced program provides clients who purchase a Ferrari Approved Certified Pre-Owned vehicle with numerous assurances that enhance peace of mind, knowing the car has gone through technical inspections of an Authorized Ferrari Dealer. The authorized dealer network uses only factory approved parts, tools and diagnostics, as well as authorized technicians.

The program includes the following benefits:

-101-point detailed technical inspection reviewing the entire vehicle

-Scheduled maintenance is complete, ensuring that there is no additional schedule maintenance requirement for the next 12 months.

-A Title Guard policy/background check is ordered- verifying the title history and providing notification of any undesirable vehicle incidents

-12 months of Ferrari coverage from the time of the Certified Pre-owned Retail date

-12 months of Ferrari Roadside Assistance

Once you're behind the wheel of a Ferrari Approved Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle, you'll see with confidence that your car looks as good on the inside as it does on the outside. To learn more about the program, take a look at the Ferrari Approved Certified Pre-Owned brochure by visiting the following website:

I also got it and I am an owner - its funny, in florida you can not get an extended warranty for a Ferrari from Ferrari( I believe California is the same) but I bought a 2004 CS and the dealer gave me an extended Ferrari
    warranty

In California you can get an extended warranty but Ferrari has to inspect the car and approve it. They charge you for the inspection.

Just my opinion, but for some reason the cost of a thorough and all encompassing PPI ($1K) gives me more piece of mind than a $5K (or whatever the actual cost) warranty from FNA would.

    Don't you think ?

Maybe they're just renaming it. I thought the "Ferrari Power" program was their certified pre-owned deal.

Depends on who you are ;)

Sounds like FNA are throwing a bone to dealers to try and boost resales in a very rough economy. The days of "hey, we're F you want the car or not?" are over.

That's true. In all fairness, they didn't charge me for the inspection when I extended my CS warranty. ;)

This program kind of negates the full coverage PowerCube Warranty that you can only get once a regular warranty is up. Now through this program it's possible to get full warranty coverage even after the factory warranty runs out when you buy a used F through the dealer program. The more limited Power train warranty can be purchased even after the factory warranty has run out and runs about $2,500 a year.

You got a dear Jon letter from a dealership you never bought from? Are you gonna be OK? Break ups are tough especially when you didn't know there was anything to break up.

I hate the 101 point inspection and all the rest, why not a 150 point inspection? Are they lazy or is there only 101 things to check on any model of Ferrari? That BS pisses me off.

Got the came thing, and I'm an owner. Don't know where it came from. Sounds a little desperate.

+1. I got the email, too. Trouble is I already have three and I'm looking to make it two. No doubt meant to help dealers who just maybe have a few too many used cars in inventory.

These are the same dealers who pulled the "pay to bump" list game, and the same FNA that effectively approved of this when they realized that they could grab an additional $100+ per car with this game, right??

I haven't forgotten; won't be anytime soon, either.

....I thought they were going to pre-certify me as a BUYER!

Avoid all those obnoxious dealers telling me I can't get on the list to buy their new 430/599/Cali/FXXX/whatever.....

maybe that'll be happening next tho.....

So, does this mean if your 'new-to-you car' is 13 months out from needing a cam belt replacement that
they'll skip it and leave you wondering about it for the next year?

I guess the dealers are looking for new customers since some of their existing customers aren't buying.

    .

the music has stopped and there ain't enough chairs for everyone.

    what goes around comes around..

everytime, i tried to purchase a then 360 spyder and now, 430 spyder, i was totally turned off by the ferrari attitude. i just wasn't going to pay the whole 80K (or more) over list thing... . plus i HAVE to purchase from the dealer in my town (not that a dealer across country was going to sell me one for less), plus the car comes back to the dealer when i'm done with it.. i am just not one of those kinds of guys.. and i didn't want to play their game.

relative to current economic conditions including demand, i am interested to see what happens to ferrari buyers who will now learn about mass production, depreciating automobiles.

i am not going to feel sorry for my local dealer even tho i saw him 2 days ago driving around town in a Benz G wagon...

don't get me wrong, the cars are beautiful, perform at a very high level and get me excited, but i want to be treated like a customer, not somebody who won the lottery cause my ferrari purchase slot came up.

I purchased extended warranty in 2021 during purchase of my 2019 Ferrari Portofino from the dealer. They gave the feeling its extended Bumper to Bumper(4-5yr) ...but now I find out its limited warranty. I am so MAD at being taken for a ride ..kind of cheated. Never trust any dealer warranty :( Read the documents... does not matter whether its Ferrari or Ford...
