Leatherique Products on F355 dash

I have just purchased Leatherique conditioner and cleaner for my F355.

The condition of the interior is very good....so far

Seath have minor cracking ...nothing too bad.

Dashboard is excellent

However, I would like to start a regimen of using these products.

One question....can I safely use the conditioner on the dash.

I am not sure if:

1. The dash is vinyl or leather
2. Will the product cause the dash to expand so much that it causes separation .

I have used Leatherique products exclusively for about 7 years now including complete stripping and re-dying seats in both my former 328 and F355.
Personally, I don't think you need the conditioner. I spread the Rejuvenator oil on my dash twice a year, let it soak in for a day and remove it with a warm damp cloth, that's it. I have used the conditioner and I know they recommend it for 'in-between' oil treatments, but I feel the oil is all that you need. JMHO. Their dye is fantastic and great for touch ups and scrapes, use cheesecloth and blot on.
As far as I know, the dash is leather and I wouldn't think any of their products would cause seperation, in fact, the opposite, suppleness.

Thanks for the tips. Do you also use the oil on the seats? I need to do something for my seats. They feel a bit stiff and dry.

I use the product on my dash and it has helped IMHO. When I bought my car there was minor dash shrinkage in some areas but it has not progressed.

By the way, I live in So. Ca and the car alwats has the top down and is exposed to the sun.

I do treat it every 2 months on the dash and any other leather that sees the sun.

 

Yes, I do the seats too, although since I re-dyed the d.s. seat last year, I have not done it. And, every other piece of leather in the car: A-frames, infront of the rear window, console (not sticky stuff), ebrake boot, etc.
As Jim V said, the more sun and heat you are exposed to the more frequent the use.
This oil really does pull out a lot of dirt and grime, etc. out as described by the company, so be sure to let it sit, soak in, and then wipe it off. Great stuff!

It is fine for all the leather in your car but not for the plastic with the factory coating.

It won't make the leather stretch enough to loosen it on the covered parts. It will make the leather supple after 2-3 oil treatments and as a result you won't slide around nearly as much in corners.

Before I used this I always wondered why anyone would put slippery leather seats in a sports car.

Yes the seats will love it! You will need heat for the full effect to take hold on the seats. Follow the instructions close and you will be amazed. I had firm not hard leather on my seats but after about three treatments and a few hours per treatment they are as soft as a newer car.

The amount of dirt that the hides are hold is surprising, the oil treatment will pull much of it out.

Agreed. Just apply the Rejuvenator, let is sit overnight and remove with a warm, damp cloth. I apply to the dash three times per year, and so far, no shrinkage or cracking yet. But man, it was pretty dry when I bought the car four years ago. I bet without the treatment, it would be a gonner by now.

 

Yes, The dash is leather and it is a very good idea to condition it with a non silicone conditioner
