Why does the price keep going up?

If I had the cash, I'd probably pick it up. Nothing pisses off the gold chain crowd more than a ratty Fcar at the runs :)

    +1 ??????

i found a white / black gt4 in Florida not too long ago that was cheap, but it had rust and body damage, not to mention no service history, books or tools. i have been looking for another carb car, and i like the gt4's. shame its white, but thats almost at my " buy it and fix it" price.

i didnt know about this one.

I'm not a fan of white either, but geez, what a price. And he claims that the engine is recently rebuilt and the seats are re-upholstered. If that's true, the price is even more impressive.

    Unfortunately, I'm:

    1. out of garage space
    2. saving for a 348
    3. afraid of what my wife would do to me if I bought another fcar!

But I sure do love those GT4s!

I think "ratty" is a little harsh! Hell...for that money if the car is sorted reasonably well in terms of mechanicals then I think it's deserving of a $5K respray at least. Then just drive the hell out of it!

    Just a question:

"I also just had the engine completely rebuilt which includes every gasket..."

    but

"Lastly, there is a leak on the oil pan gasket- get under the car, take off the pan, repair/replace gasket, problem solved."

Wasn't THIS gasket included in "every gasket?"

Probably a lot of fun for the money, but seems like if the owner spent a few hours over a weekend adjusting the carbs & fixing the leak he could have a quick sale at a bit higher price.

Its interesting how every good deal is picked apart with tweezers. This looks like a fabulous buy at that price. I'd buy it sight unseen for that price. And white is a great color on Ferrari's.

I'd like to get more pictures, but it definately is on the radar screen. I only bought two Ferraris sight unseen. And both of those I was more than 5k miles away from at the time!

People have looked at this car and said its VERY rusty in places.

They've also asked the seller for details on the "recent service" only to get stammering answers that lead nowhere.

at best its a parts car that needs a full service.

you can get a GOOD one for $25-30k... all done. You could buy this rattle trap for $12k and put another $13k in it and not be close.

I think Mordalo went to look at it. Like I said in the other thread, I think if you showed up with $10+ cash in hand you could probably drive it away. If someone is really interested I could probably go take a look at it for you, it's only a few miles away from me. I did contact the seller the first time around and he seems like a decent guy who just needs the money.

I used to be, but no time anymore. I didn't get very far with them, but had fun trying.

This is selling at the high end of project car and low end of daily driver. From what I've read, it has more than a little rust - to begin with.

i read the threads. i do think its worth saving.

Judge4re, offer him $9k. remember shipping is still not cheap as diesel is still expensive.

$9k by wire transfer and i am in if the good Judge does not buy it.

sometimes you just buy them and drive them, after making sure the belts and safety issues are ok.

i could care less about rust.

none of you had rusty 70's cars to drive when you were 15-16 i take it?

    please keep this thread updated.

maybe fix the rust and paint the lower section in boxer black..........

no rust (except one tiny small spot out of sight where a rear valance is held on),
So I guess this statement is not true? Based on the description it looks like a great buy. I wouldn't think anyone would do a major sevice on a car they intend to sell for this price.

Seller didn't have any hi res pictures, if someone wants to take a look at it, I'd be happy to call ahead and buy a nice bottle of Scotch at their local liquor store.

i would like to see your Ferrari box set collection get filled !

a set of belts and tensioner s, check the cam pulleys, and drive it.

if the engine was in fact rebuilt, i would find out if they got rid of the sodium filled exhaust valves.

    just a thought.

    good luck to you Erik.
