March 1984, a prototype GTO (no front fender Ferrari shields, leather dash, gauges with chrome-accented bezels etc) driven furiously by the one-and-only Dario Benuzzi whilst listening to a rock cassette tape! A friend was/is a member of the press and was there at the time and took an entire series of images of the testing of the prototypes etc.

Note 47649 with just a single mirror on the driver's door. Nowadays it has both doors with mirrors. Very interesting, thanks for posting Marcel.
Exellent! Mr A Obrist was my reference for Ferrari during many years. Thank you Marcel for the picture, i keep it like a gift for Christmas!

Several 288 GTO owners had the bumpers painted red (11 cars) and a thin yellow line added. The car pictured is 56209. Pix taken from "Hors Ligne" magazine. Marcel Massini
What I find interesting about this car is in the top image looking through the car you can see a raised panel on the engine cover... ??
