that was cool, i did not know the Mondial was heavier than a 348?

be neat to see a 308 or 328 comparison done by them. i looked but did not find one.

    Michael,

Thanks for that! As this was your post - I request that you repost it in the thread "Valeo Transmission" (technically, the wrong wording - but that's OK:)) She's only wrong in stating that going from first to second is difficult. Once warm, I dare anyone to make that shift faster that I can in Rachel!! Remember, Valeo throws the clutch in under 100ms :)

    Happy New Year, my friend,

    Hank

I saw that Jay Leno has a 308, looks like a QV. Hopefully he'll do a review of that soon.

I wish Clarkson were thrashing it around a track, rather than that chick just loafing through town!

Where did you hear that Leno got a 308????

Interesting, thanks for posting. I'd never seen the Valeo gearbox in action before. That was quite an expensive option - I think she said 6000 pounds.

No...Mondials are not quiet by any stretch of the imagination, nor are 348's. My Mondial 3.2 has a rip snorting stock exhaust, that will not be confused with anything but a Ferrari---and I have a Honda Accord for comparison purposes ;). The video has a really crappy exhaust sound, which may be a function of technology. I find that most of the older Top Gear's do not really capture engine notes very well.

Bob, You are awesome... I hadn't seen that before. Had I known I was on film when I was pulling out, I would have revved her up. I would love to have a video of her at at full scream!

    Thanks for posting the video.

No, I've noticed the 308 sitting in his garage. Watch the Muira Video, and some of the others. You'll see it.

That was the most boring review i've ever seen (or heard).

Someone get that woman a Camry and send her on her way to the mall.

    Mondial is beautiful in silver.

Yes, silver is a very good color for the Mondial T.

It was a sort of sedate review, but in fairness it was probably appropriate for the car and the potential buyer at the time. A Mondial T with Valeo gearbox was likely intended for real world driving, not sideways power slides on the track with plumes of tire smoke. Maybe that's why they didn't have Jeremy do that segment...

How many Mondial's came with a Valeo gearbox?

Is this a scarce thing to find in Mondial's today?

    Hi Samimi,

Going through my latest "ferrari serial numbers manual", the latest offering by Matthias Urban based on the Raab files, I find 19 Mondials listed with the Valeo system. I believe there are (or were) a few more but they just didn't get "described". As an example, one very late model Mondial t had nothing more than SR# - - Mondial - - (and in the description) "t". That was it ! Now, that could certainly have been a Valeo car - or not - we'll not know unless someone pipes up in what I hope will bring all worldwide Valeo owners, both past and present into, again what I hope, will be the definitive Valeo Sticky (in this section) :)

Samimi, to answer your question - I'll guess at about 30 Mondials and (for sure) one F40.

    Happy New Year mate,

    Hank

Very true. I guess it would be pretty costly to bring a Valeo coupe into the states. Maybe, if I hit the lottery:)
