Unless the car has the proper style chassis and a motor from the same Ferrari model the car is supposed to represent, it's a fake, IMO...

If you'd taken the trouble to look at the link I posted, and in particular the last photo, you'd see it's clearly badged as:

If it had no ferrari motor then it would be a fake, this is some type of bitsa replica, perhaps another ctaegory is needed bitsa and bitsa replica.

It is the ferrari version of a lotus 211, think of it that way and what you have is a totaly awesome trakday car, this is what ferrari should be building for enthusiast fun.

    Soooooo....

If the Breadvan were to be re-bodied back to a swb, would Classiche certify it?

It is NOT going to happen: I can confirm that first hand. There are enough SWB's whereas the Breadvan is unique and is a very famous, even infamous part of Ferrari history.

    best regards,

    Marc

Nah. This kind of thing has quietly been going on for years. I'm sure no-one needs reminding about 'Old Number One' ? ;)

    Marc,

Of course it won't happen. My remark was just to demonstrate the blurry line (as remarked by Jim) and the rediculous position of Classiche.
It all makes me think of the book '1984'

Hi, one of the main reasons this Noble P4 was uncovered was becauss the P4 repro owners have formed an organization to doccument there cars and try to prevent this kind of thing happening. They are very proud of their organization and I am sure would cooperate in forming an organization to do the same for other Ferrari repro types. just one man's opinion tongascrew

Paul, thanks for that link to the story of Old Number One. I hadn't been aware of this since I don't follow old Bentleys', but it was interesting how provenance is determined when there is a dispute.

My pleasure, David. I don't follow old Bentleys either - I just happen to remember the story because I was an avid Scimitar GTE owner at the time, and as a result of the Court's judgement (on the provenance of 'Old Number One'), Middlebridge Scimitar, who were supposedly destined to become the saviours of the marque, went into liquidation. :(

Did anyone spot the Ferrari TR61 'recreation' amongst those Motorima Coachbuilding projects ?

    See: http://www.motorima.com/projects.php?id=31

Well, the car is in the UK now, and available for hire, apparently.

    See: http://www.rioprestige.com/hire/ferrari/ferrari-250-testarossa/
