No problem at all. Out here, there are only a couple exotics, and we do have an Enzo. Since the Ferrari's and Lambo's are so thin, I post what most here would consider an "exotic", such as the Vipers, Bentleys and Masers that are more prevalent. We even have an Aston or two. The bad thing is we never even see those very much. You live relatively close to where I do, so I know you can relate (R8 aside). If I spot anything interesting, I will post it.
Somebody should make a "Domestic Spotters" topic to post this stuff in. I like to hear about it and see the pics, but it's certainly off-topic!
That would be nice... WTF is this??? Cutlass kit car (look at the roofline...). Came out of a restaurant and it parked right next to us! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks like an "Excalibur" style kit. There are several here in East Texas. I think the kit is made to resemble a pre-war Mercedes of some type.
That vehicle looks similar to the zimmer brand. http://www.zimmermotorcars.com/ Only dealer i've ever seen have one is in SA.
Yellow 360 with chrome wheels at Campisi's on Mockingbird around 1:00, looked amazing. Then around 4:00 or 5:00, a brandywine Maser QP at Greenville and Park Ln., heading south.
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Not much spotting today, but there was a nice red pbug 944. It had an S or T after the 944, and it looked and sounded modded. Had a bike rack on the roof. It was in Turtle Cove in Rockwall. I've always liked these because of the motor swap potential they have. Plus, I think they look good too. So add one more normal spot for me mabey we should have a thread for these since they are more common. I wonder if the economy has anything to do with increase of these instead of the more high end spots? Or mabey it's just the crappy weather lately......
McLaren SLR currently residing on a lift inside a "Sinclair" gas station on Camp Bowie (next door to Lucille's) Looks pretty cool through the glass roll-up doors.
That's the place WJHMH and I were referring to. Looks pretty wicked displayed on the lift like that, doesn't it? Surprisingly wide.
Does DFW have any spotter spots (think Beverly Hills with Rodeo Drive, the Casino Square in Monte Carlo, ect.) for luxury/exotic cars?
Sunday evening, A blue Maserati GranTurismo on northbound Bryant-Irvin in SW FTW Saturday afternoon a grey Nissan GTR on Bryant-Irvin Rd northbound
Your best bet is McKinney Avenue or Preston Road (through Universtiy/Highland Park). However, in a large area like Dallas, you see some of the best stuff in random places.
I've seen that same GTR hanging around the Bryant-Irvin area in the past week or so. It's a much taller car than I expected.
The Galleria and NorthPark usually have some good spots. Anywhere in Uptown/Turtle Creek. I don't think you will fina a Rodeo/Sunset lovation here, or a Casino Square, but we try to make it happen though Are you new here or just visiting?
Oh, almost forgot. Red Shelby Cobra ( THE Cobra, not one of the new hated "regular" cars that draw flak as of late ) at Mockingbird and Harry Hines after lunch today. Great weather for a roadster today...
Saw the infamous trashed out blue 308 at Dallas Country Club yesterday. Upon closer inspection, it has the most cracked driver's seat I have ever seen. I don't think it's been washed in many years. To each his own.
All while telling the people he meets "well, I drive a Ferrari!!!!" That is likely all he can claim, other than the fact he pisses other Ferrari owners off with the condition of his car. I'll bet if you offered to take the car off his hands and give it a proper home, he would scoff and say it's worth $60k+. Yes, to each his own.
