    Hi All,

I hooked up with Costa and am acting as their press officer for the 24 Hours of Daytona. That means that for all you F-chatters we will have regular updates of the team's progress both here and on our blog. In this thread we will profile our testing at Daytona over the next three days. Be sure to stop by often as I will try and get a few updates per day all with photos. To keep this thread healthy don't just look at the photos, please comment and I'll do my best to answer questions.

Now for the photos. Here we profile the unwrapping of our beast and its passage through technical inspection

Awesome thread...I'll be checking often. I notice an inspection official with some kind of template for the rear wing a la Nascar, are there body templates as well?

    Thanks, Noel.

    Very cool.

I see Carbonio is one of the sponsors. I didn't know they made parts for Ferraris.

We were there also today in our p-car, it was cool to see the F-car out there, although I was struck by how amazingly quiet it is in comparison to the P-cars and especially the DPs.

One question I meant to wander over and ask is "are you running the stock challenge gearbox with F1 etc or did they make you have a sequential?" Otherwise I guess a challenge car could run there relatively easily with the Splitter and wing?

My comment of the day would be that despite the advice on the new bus-stop config everyone seems to be running over the new rumble strips despite the grand-am advisory that they would not be good to run over, we were being conservative, will keep a close eye tomorrow on what people are up to :)

We are running the F1 gearbox. The car is very close to a Challenge car with a wing and front splitter. Dan, please feel free to come by and ask for me (Rob) or I'll swing by your pit when you guys are not looking too busy.

The 5th picture, is that a template that the officials use to judge the shape of the rear wing or is there another function for that?

You are correct. It is a template gauge to make sure the wing fits inside the allowed parameters. There is no other function to the tool.

Im amazed to see there are no center lock wheels!

Ill probably spot more differences later..but that struck me as odd

No centerlocks allowed in GT class...was instituted to slow the pit stops of the GT cars down so they will not be a threat to the Prototype cars (think 2003).

Love the Ferrari 430 in Grand Am GT...makes me think to get back into doing the 24h again! Did it often enought in Porsches.

    Good luck!!

Agree 150%. That is by far the best looking Ferrari to enter the 24-Hr Rolex.
