I would say it could come from an Islero or a non power-steering optioned Espada or Jarama. However I am not sure about the "rules" of steering wheel attribution in the Lamborghini golden era!
Yes, you are correct Olivier. I pictured this car here in Holland, March 2004. Nice color, but original Bronzo Chiaro is also very nice EM42 ;-) Ciao! Marcello Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The seats have a different pattern than production seats, also it has headrest whereas most did not. Joe # 6243
Happy to see #6027 again...and in its renewed livery... Yvan must have a look at it from heaven where he is by now !
Here are the 3 shades offered on the Islero in that color range. 1st: Bronzo Scuro 2nd: Metallizzato Bronzo 3rd: Nicciola Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2009 will be crowned by the rebirth of the mythic Lamborghini having attempted 1975 Le Mans 24 Hours qualifications Paul Rillys Islero, featured in many Classic Lamborghini books. Yes, this unique fighting bull has been discovered after years of researches and patience ! Its awesome history has been fully documented and now its restoration will take a year in order to attempt the 2010 Le Mans Revival. Thanks to Lou Herrin, my friend. What a great piece of news! Have you decided in what livery you will restore it? Merry Christmas to all of you!
Yes, I'm planning to configure it back to its racing livery with "Miura red color" or bloody red. So, everything will have to be re-thought again for racing instead of its street actual appearence ! Fortunately I have all its technical documents and Paul Rilly himself will be an additionnal source for details... 1st pic is in which shape I've discovered it and second one on trailer was shooted by Marcel de Lange. BTW, all Lamborghini pictures of 1968 Salon de Paris exhibition are welcome, as I'm looking for more pictures about it in its "first" live, Islero was "pale green", I don't know original paint code. The pale (pea) green is Verde Smeraldo Acrilico # 2.445.003. That was the only color that when scanned didn't turn out at all, it came across as white. Joe
Hi everyone, I just had some news about 6300: the motor is now completely rebuilt. Next, the motor will be coupled to the gearbox and then put back in the car. I can't wait to hear it! Hi everyone, Here are two new pieces that I've added to my Islero collection: - The first one is the Polistil model in gold. I am glad to have found it because it is truly mint. The other ones that I previously found were in a rather bad shape. - The other one is a factory issued postcard part of a series of 30. Ed, The following is the cover from the paint sample and the Green shade. Neither is a metalic, the sample below is Verde Amazzone Acrillco, the other shade of green Verde Smeraldo Acrillco didn't reflect well when scanned and came out as a white. If you look on the right hand edge of the Bronzo Scurro I posted earlier you will see part of the Verde Amazzone sample, next to that is the sample of Verde Smeraldo that better reflected the color. It is best described as a pea green. I suspect that the original color for 6300 was Metalliczatto Bronzo Acrillco which is the bottom color. I would go with the original color, it is a much richer color. Joe Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you very much for your help! The original colour is described as "Bronzo chiaro" on the original Lamborghini production sheets. It is quite surely the one you mention. For the moment, I will stick with the green since I will not repaint the car, I'll reconsider the option when the car needs a repaint!
The green on your car is a very nice color, I assume that it is a paint that was offered on the Islero S since it it not among the colors on the chips. Taking into account who the car was originally built for, it could very well be the Bronzo Chiaro was a special order color and the only Islero ever painted in that color. The problem may come when it is time to paint it. Hopefully they didn't strip the car when the repainted it green and you'll be able to find a good sample underneath the paint. When we removed all the trim on #6243 we discovered that a lot of areas were never painted when the car was built. The only way we were able to get a good sample was under the layers of the other colors that the car had been painted over the years. I also had the advantage of having the color chips to scan and compare to the sample. Even then we had to mix numerous combinations to match the color to modern paints. The metalic is much finer on the original than what the scanned formula called for. So PPG had to mix different types of chips till they got it right. Joe
