Loading pictures now. Lights still not fully connected. The grill looks amazing -- but, fitting it is not a 'slam duck'. Mike and I spent almost all afternoon tweaking the fit. I'll speak 'offline' with Husker about some potential changes in the documentation and procedure.

(Husker -- I now have the FULL width of the grill secure -- from the edges of both sides all the way through the middle. )

YES: the chrome bolt heads will be painted to conceal the shine.

Daniel- That looks awesome, even if the bolts do show through. Probably not an issue without a flash illuminating them.

Husker- Great job. Luca would actually like it, I think.

    Happy New Year everyone.

Those bolts need a little flat black paint. Daniel, I left you a message.

    Man!! That looks AWESOME!!!! :D:D

Just a quick thought.....I wonder if it would look better painted gloss black, like Daniel's car!! :):)

It looks great, but I wonder if it were shiny to match the car, if it would look better? :D:D

It took some time but we finally got it in and it looked great. The installation process is not for the faint of heart. If you are scared of modification this is not the part for you.

I think it looks great on the car and if I was fortunate enough to have a 348 I would have the LeMans grill on it.

I'm really struggling with the wiring, and have 'given up' for the night. I'll sleep on it and reinvestigate. The wire colors from Husker don't seem to match my car perfectly. On each side, there remains a 'double red', and yellow/black without a home.

My back hurts from leaning over the car, and I need to get our house ready for a New Years party tomorrow. I'll work on it again late tomorrow and Friday.

Cool man!! Some small bugs that I am sure Husky will soon iron out.................if possible! :):)

Perhaps rubber pads to stop the tyres from flat spotting when it sits for periods of time. ;);)

Daniel, I don't know that a photo of the wiring is going to tell much - I am going to take another look at the connections in the a.m. and see if I missed something - I obviously did somewhere!!! Thank you for your patience - I have to give it to Daniel - he stuck his neck out there for the first production model of this and his efforts are going to help me improve this further. While I understand that this is a modification to the existing taillight set-up, I do not want it to be overly cumbersome to install.

I am going to re-double my efforts on getting a pigtail wiring harness made as this would make things much easier. I may have to add $100 or so to the price, as I am going to obviously have to buy Ferrari parts - 348 and 355 - and simply make these myself. Would you all rather have a "plug and play" for an extra $100?

    Thank you Daniel!!!

If we are paying $2K for the grill........whats another $100 or so for the wiring to make it easier to install? :D:D

Make it an option mate. Some guys would probably rather wire it up themselves (my brother LOVES that sh*t) and some guys would prefer the plug and play alternative for $100 extra! :):)

Guys, I wanted to get everyone updated on the taillight wiring. First of all, Daniel (and me) endured a nightmare trying to get his taillights wired correctly, primarily because we are discovering that there is quite a variation in the COLORS of wires used in the 348 harness, from car to car. Sounds bizarre, but it's true. In fact, Daniel has a tech manual and his wire colors didn't even match that!

So...I am working on a couple of things to make this process of converting 348 wiring to 355 lights less painful.

#1, instead of instructions based on wire colors, the instructions will be based upon the wire positions in the 348 harness socket. The positions are numbered so this shouldn't be too difficult, and should be fail proof as long as instructions are followed.

That still leaves a challenge of attaching the wires to the lamps themselves - I tried the gasket seal approach about 2 months ago and then switched to some very small "pinch" wire connectors. Either can work but they are only "adequate" in my book.

The best solution is going to be a converter harness, and that is what I am working on right now. This will add to the cost of the Grill, but for those that don't like to mess with the wiring it will be worth it. Jack Babbitt (F-chat member) is working on this for me.

You guys please feel free to throw in any other suggestions or ideas that you have, so we can continue to improve the LeMans Grill!

    Husker -

I have about $200 worth of top-shelf WeatherPack connectors, pins, seals.... and most importantly, a very correct crimping tool scheduled for arrival here tomorrow from Pegasus Racing. Let me build my first harness and see how it looks.

Why am I NOT , I REPEAT, NOT SURPRISED that Ferrari used several colors of wire for the same circuit in different vehicles, same model. Its the same craftmanship I would expect from a coachworks company that makes stretch limosines,ya know the type ,what ever we have ,we use wherever on whatever.Amazing isnt,so beautiful yet so frustrating.
