I had the 599 at the office today. Come over and say hello. I am in Suite 100.
Danke! I'll stop by when I do a Starbucks run. Feel free to PM me with any requests. It's the least I can do.
If anyone is a member of FCA (NJ) mark you calendar to sign up for the Spring Rally which is scheduled to take place on March 28 2009. It will start with breakfast at my home.
One hour ago I ran over several very large potholes on Rt 80 East in Parsippany NJ. I blew out the front driver side tire and maybe bent the rim. The 599 is being picked up tomorrow to have the tire replaced and the rim checked out. I will not have the 599 for at least one week. Therefore anybody that was tentatively scheduled to come to my office to have a look at the 599 will have to reschedule for the middle of January 2009.
I'm pretty sure you are talking about that section right near "The Castle", I absolutely hate that section of road. I hope that you and the car are ok.
You are correct. I was traveling at about 65 mph and hit the potholes. There must have been 10+ or more of the potholes. There was a loud bang. I only live a few miles from the potholes and made it to my house. I am sure I damaged the rim but just wanted to get home. All things considered the 599 did ok on the difficult trip from the potholes to my house. Has anyone had any dealings with reporting and getting reimbursed for a pothole?
Send "Dan360" a PM. He is the moderator for the New England section and he had the same happen to his Challenge Stradale if I remember correctly.
Bummer!! The same thing happened to a friend's M3 on that stretch of road not too long ago. She even reported it: http://www.nj.gov/transportation/commuter/potholeform.shtm Our tax dollars at work... Best of luck!
My cars are available for a photoshoot. Just let me know when. Naturally it will be after they come back for the shop.
Sorry to hear about the pothole problems. Good luck with getting reimbursed though. I took the insurance on my tires and they still gave me a problem with the dented rims and bubbled out tires. NJ and NY have the worst pothole problem in the nation. And after the winter it will be worse. Although there is some $ comming to NJ for road repairs.
yep no problem.. i must say im no pro photographer. im i try my best let me know when you would be willing to do it
In the picture of the two 355s I am the tall individual with my back to you. The 355 was a fun car but it was under powered compared to its successors the 360 and the 430.
Richard...nice collection! I too live and grew up in the area. I remember Grunnings at the Top (as well as the one in the village). I grew up at Don's too...all good. One question for you...what made you buy so many Ferrari's in such a short period of time or is this just the latest stretch for you? I have a 430 and would love to get together one of these days.
Being a tax attorney specializing in estates and dealing with death over the last 35 years, I realized nobody has a lock on life. Since I have the means to buy many Ferrari's I decided it was later than I thought. Shortly before turning 60 I began my buying spree. Hope this answers your question.
rich, you have the complete correct view on life! it is short and you never know when it may end! who the hell says you wont be laying in bed and something fall from the sky and kill you... (****ed up i no) but what im saying is live life to the fullest! my dream is to one day own an F40, and i will do that. i have to
I quite enjoyed reading through this thread....thank you Tax Dr for your shared info on your wonderful cars. I hope to see you at a meet up in the near future!
Just got back the 599 from the shop. Only needed a new tire, rim was OK. Enzo will be returned to my home after Cavallino, early Feb. Those who expressed an interest in taking pictures...ride..and maybe a drive...PM me and we will discuss the details. FYI...my dealer...Ferrari of Long Island...expects to have my yellow/black Scuderia spider in my garage sometime in April. Looking forward to this addition which I believe is almost as fast as the Enzo.
