It is also an outdated model getting pushed towards two models down from current.
Trading the CS for a new 599, others will do the same. The post about the $125k number seems a plausible number to start levelling off at, but I wouldn't rule out lower prices for good cars

    OK
Outdated OK but it just has that little something which puts it into a different class IMHO. It is one I will keep and add to. 125K for a low milage no stories car very doubtful; however, I would expect most modern ferraris to eventually depreciate except enzo and replacement.
Others may not do the same. Sure I like the 599 and I have considered adding one in addition to but now the F40's have dropped so I will wait and see. I know the F40 is an outdated model but......

The CS may be older but hardly outdated - it will be just like all the classics - it is the dfinitely one of the coolest modern Ferrai on the track - anyone who has sent any real time tracking one will definitely agree - sure newer models are faster, more sophisticed blah, blah - but the CS just has a certain feel - plus the styling will never out of date - it has the potential to become a true classic one day anybody out there agree lets herar it!

Yes, I agree the CS is/will be a classic. The styling is just perfect. The feel is just perfect. Without overly intrusive electronic nannies, it is a blast to drive and will challenge most mortals who drive it near its potential. IMHO the 599 is a nice car but doesn't thrill me. Just like the 550 and 575 are nice, not thrilling, but nice. Jeremy Clarkson said he would choose a 430 over a 599 and he freakin' loved the CS, choosing it over the GT3 RS. CS's prices may go wherever, mine is not for sale.

so far, yes. but circumstances change.
we all love the strad, you don't need to defend your purchase decison.

it's a thread for people buying. it is very interesting to watch these markets drop. the big overlay driving future prices is beyond this forum --

No fewer than 9 CS's on eBay as of today... many of them have continuously appeared on eBay over the past several months.

Fact is that some people HAVE to get out of their cars.....The second part of the equation is that there are many FEWER people on the market with the disposable income to buy a toy.. This is economic - not a view of the actual market. If you hold - the prices should come back up within the year (hopefully)

(FWIW - I'm a buyer in this market!)

There will be a widening price gap for Stradales between those that have been well cared for and those that have not. Price speculation is just speculation. But these modern cars produced in times where younger and more aggressive owners 'drive' these cars rather than GQ them (Garage Queen) like in the past will certainly impact value. In the long run these cars will find their long terms owners who will keep them for a long time and drive price up regardless of what happens in the short term. If you haven't had the pleasure of driving a CS than you should make a concerted effort to do so. They are wonderful cars.

I am about to return a 08 Gallardo Spyder (GS) which was loaned to me for the weekend - I know trying to compare a Stradale to a GS is like comparing apples to oranges, however bottom line in regards to fun factor the Stradale wins overwhemlingly.

Aston Martin dealer near my area has two CS for sale. Both are not on the eBay yet. One of them is consignment. Asking $167k for car with 10k miles and $160k for the one with 19k miles. Here's one of them, [aston martin tysons Posting just in case you guys are interested. I heard from several ferrari fanatics that Ferrari Market is on the down side and will be for next few years. I really want to own a CS but will have to wait and see for at least till end of next winter. The salesman there is dying to put me into one of the CS asap tho. :) You guys are right. I've never seen this many CS'es for sale on eBay ever before!

IIRC, that CS in your link has been for sale for quite some time and has been discussed in the "Story Stradales Thread"...

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188417

Prior to being for sale at Aston Martin of Tysons Corner, it was offered by another Penske Automotive dealer over the summer. Prior to that, it was on eBay numerous times through Bentley of Long Island. This CS has definitely been around the block. In the current pictures, it appears that the dashboard, particularly around the passenger airbag region has been repaired. Looks like a non-OEM fire extinguisher was added to the once vacant extinguisher holder as well. Can't tell from the photos, but this CS had/has a red leather wrapped roll-bar.

Datax, do you have a link for the other CS they're offering or more details?

And interesting enough only one out of the ten has an OEM stripe. I remember hearing somewhere that only 10% of CSs had the stripe..........could be true.

I´m sorry to say, 599 is a very boring car compared to the CS. It´s fast and looks awesome, but it´s less then 50 % of the fun of a CS on track. I would NEVER trade my CS for a GT. So extremely different cars.

2009 will be a sobering experience for exotic car values in general. The Stradale is no exception and will continue to come down in value like everything else. I have cash in hand but in no hurry. Would love to pick a non-beater in the 125k-130k range...
