A 333 SP owner from IL has a great idea for a reunion and registry for these amazing sports racing cars, and I'd like to see if the F-chatters can lend a hand. Here's the ad he just ran in the 01/09 FCA News Bulletin (which he gave me his approval to run here):

"333 SP Reunion. As a 333 owner, I am hoping to stage a reunion at the '09 Annual Meet at Road America to mark the 15th anniversary of the 333 SP (track time, dedicated paddock area, etc.). I am also interested in forming a 333 registry. If you are a 333 SP owner or driver, please contact me. Dan Harrison (815) 836-3528, e-mail: [email protected] (IL)"

Sounds like a great idea to me! Please help if you can in any way!

Great idea! But I do not think many europeans will take their car to the US.

    Here are some shots of his s/n 033 http://www.t e a m speed.com/forums/ferrari-super-cars/708-333sp-pics.html

Great idea, I would be willing to help, time allowing.

I attended a number of the races such as Sebring and Le Mans 95, 96 and can help you contact a number of the drivers such as Didier Theys, Eric Van de Poele and Derek Bell.
Had interviewed Fermin Velez back then who sadly passed away of cancer...
I did a large deeply researched story on the 333SP in general with intrview of Dallara and Michelotto's Dindo for the Ferrari Germany magazine and also a ten page history of the type in Cavallino #111 along with a test drive of #019 the most important of all 333SP's (thanks again C.!)

I would kill to drive a 333SP again! Well..kill Madoff and such like anyway!

    best regards,

    Marc

Understood, but they might still be interested in the registry.

Well there are not MANY 333 SPs to begin with! When someone is organizing something special like this, lets try & remain both positive and supportive!

Personally I think a good percentage of the cars will come IF they are duly informed in time and IF the cars are in running order....

    Any news?

BBLMs will reunite there too I heard at Moroso last week. Must be possible to get 6+ North American BBLMs at Road America.

As the Boxer is the featured model, there may be a couple turn up, but I doubt you'll see that many. The owners I know would rather run their cars as opposed to display them. That's why the Historic Challenge was such a draw. However, that's been ruined. It's unlikely that you'll see that many BBLMs on the grid anywhere anymore. We had 8, a full 1/3, run in the Historics during one season, and 6 run in one event.
