    Travis,
Duz185 on here and Midwest SCC has or had a rolling Pantera project car for sale last fall. You might try to run him down to see if it is still avail. He also has a VERY nice Pantera that he brings to our outings.
Search his posts on www.midwestscc.com to find pics or search him here to contact. In central Indiana.

Edit: Just went thru this whole thread and see that duz185 already posted earlier. No mention of his car for sale, but you can take it from here. ;)

Here is a midnight blue/gray 1974 Pantera for sale with some interesting mods.
396 cu. in. Windsor SVO motor producing 475hp and 465ft. lb. torque at rear wheels.
12,500 original miles, one owner car.
Front and rear bumpers body colored.
    Leather interior with Recaro seats.

    http://www.pro-auto.com/used_vehicle_details.htm?vehicleId=eaee0f9d4046383900b89bc562198e50&bhcp=1

Looks pretty impressive. They are asking $64,900 for it.

Note that I have no connection to car or dealership. I have no idea how reputable the dealer is or isn't. YMMV.

the dealer - pro-auto exchange is top notch. I dealt with Mike Haber, one of the principals there on the purchase of my amazing Countach 4 years ago = CLASS ACT ! I know of this Pantera and have discussed it with Mike in the past - he recommends it..says it is AMAZING - I would take his word!

    Mike S.

on a 'visual' level, I am not too fond of some of the cosmetic mods on this one, but I love the color and the quality of the car! DON'T like the front spoiler, bumpers, wheels, rear spoiler, side mirrors, but do like all the rest!

I have a 72 pre-L in my garage that has not moved in over 10 years. It is unmolested, very original .. a California car ... no rust. I am the second owner, purchased in 1973. It was my daily driver and has slightly over 100,000 miles but I've gone thru the engine twice and not abused it ever. Excellent interior. If anyone is interested in a project Pantera I might be pursuaded to part with it. PM me for details.

True, production numbers for the GT5 nad GT5S were very very small. Here is a picture of our group in France during our trip to the Le Mans Classic last July. This probably represents almost 1/5th of the UK population of RHD wide body Panteras made!!

Damn!! nice gathering! I'll share a quick story, no flames please. When I was a few years younger...like 20 I used to think the Countach was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then, one day I came across a 5s and the world became a different place. That's one hell of a shot.

    both cool cars
i do find the GT5 looking better than GT5S from some angle and vice-versa

the GT5 and GT5S ....took some inspiration from the wide countach models though ;)

I'm sure they did... I still love both cars immensely. To a 16 year old musclecar car guy the GT5s made the transition to exotic cars seamless. While some prefer their Italians to have 12+ cylinders, some actually love the fact that Panteras have red blooded cast iron American V-8s powering them.

okay, let's all us Detomaso enthusiasts 'cosmetically' describe their favorite or ultimate Pantera....

    mine;

    pre-L
    chrome bumpers and polished trim
original 15" rims with 60 series tires rear...just looks better to me than updated blinged oversized campy clones, 8" wheels up front and 10" rears (I actually have a set of aftermarket period correct 9" and 11" x 15's - campy clones that would be my choice on my Pantera) :D
clean original paint scheme with lower door sills and front valance and lower rear painted black, side markers shaved and euro front turn signal lights added - I kinda like some of the decal/graphics out there and might consider adding
color of car??? I like many
rest of car can be upgraded mechanically in a zillion ways, but that is my favorite 'look', nice and cleeeeeeeaaaaan :D

    Very simple for me...
any late model Gt5s in Black on black
    bone stock
    can even be an Amerisport.

fantastic pantera! I love the 'variety' and personal touches that make every pantera out there a 'resto-mod'. Beats the heck out of looking at another of just the same car over and over, but just different colors like u get with just about all other exotics....

My personal pick for a favorite Pantera would be the Pantera Si. I love the updated Gandini design, how it was a great evolutionary jump, but did not lose the spirit of looking like a Pantera. Kinda like a Porsche 911--pick any year and they all still maintain the classic look, yet still stay modern. There was one Si model that they slapped twin turbos on the 302, and the reviewer said it was the fastest car they'd ever tested at the time. Here is a link to a nice one:

  21. My favorite is what I have, a push button. The first, very very rare. Hand built. My next is a GT5s.

    hard to tell
too many nice DT cars around :)
i like the GT5 and GT5-S wide look
the darck blue-black GT5-S are veeeery nice

as a "complete package" my fav. remain the one yellow-black GTS-group 3 i found at factory and that sold to a collector
it was just too special (i still cry when i see the pics i made....and i am sure it will be worth 150k euro to the right guy someday ! )

I have been trying to buy an Si for quite a while now, but they are very rare, and do not often become available for sale. The first red car sold in Norway three days after I found out about it just as I was booking a flight to see it.
The second silver car was recently for sale in Germany, but it has had a repaint from its original black, and some rust issues too.
I also pursued a rhd white Si in Australia last summer, one of only two RHD cars made, but again it sold before I could make arrangements to have it checked over. I would love to own one and replace the engine with something more appropriate.
