Good call on the tri-tip timing! I'm in. 1: Impactco +1 2: Rv5 3: RIVIDRCI I have a prepaid 2A lesson on file @ Jim Hall Kart Racing, might do it that afternoon. Anyone still interested in the kart thing ? Or maybe we should wait till later/Springtime for a group kart thing?
Sounds like fun but I'm pretty tapped out from "other" purchases. Maybe in the Spring for Michelle & I.
I see you're being very open with your 3 digit numeric designations. Any room for a 928, birthday boy?
Looks like my 308 is taking a trip to Australia. Sheehan found her a good home. If the C4 is up and running i will bring that. I will hold a seat for Michelle Dave
My friend that you all met on the last drive, Ned Tanen passed away on Monday. He was driving that beautiful 300SL. I will sure miss him. Great car guy. Here is his obit... Former president of Universal Pictures NED TANEN has died. He was 77. The Hollywood producer passed away on Monday (05Jan09) from natural causes at his home in Santa Monica, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Tanen took the helm of two of Hollywood's biggest studios and presided over a string of huge box office hits. In his time at Universal, from 1976 to 1982, Tanen oversaw two record box office years for the studio, with the release of Oscar winners On Golden Pond and E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. He left Universal at the height of E.T.'s success, but quickly took on producing roles on a trio of Brat Pack films: The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles and St. Elmo's Fire. He took on the head role at Paramount in 1984 and continued his stellar box office record, with hits including Top Gun and Ghost being produced by the studio under his watch. After leaving the studio, he finished his career with producing credits on Guarding Tess, Cops and Robbersons and Mary Reilly. Tanen started his career as a talent agent and worked with entertainers such as Neil Diamond, Elton John, Bill Cosby and Olivia Newton-John. He moved into movies, and was propelled up the ladder after spotting the potential of huge successes Jaws and Animal House. He is survived by his partner, Donna Dubrow, two daughters and three grandchildren.
Indeed. Ned had many " Entourage" stories that were always entertaining. Above all he loved the cars and loved to drive them. Over his life he owned many Ferrari's and an increadable collection of hand built minitures. At our last meeting at the Way Point we were talking with Martin and Matt about going on the California Targa this spring. I knew him for only 2 years. In that time he was constantly battling health problems.
Ned seemed like a super guy. glad I got to meet him, but sad he's gone. I'll be there on the 24th with the 328. 1: Impactco +1 2: Rv5 3: RIVIDRCI 4: KraigG 5: dromer 6: memiller74
Jason Try to make the brunch. Would like to see you. I didnt get a chance to have the 308 detailed. Things moved to quickly. dave
Dave If the 308 definitely went to Oz please email me the new owners details. I will invite them to the drive we are having in April even though it does not have webers. We should have about 30 old Ferrari bangers on the trip, mostly V12. By the way I just got news that the yacht I was going to Mexico on has a damaged mast and it will NOT get fixed in time for the race. So now I do not know what to do. A 3 week hole in my schedule. I will email you soon when I figure out what I will do. I too am very upset about Ned. I found him to be a wonderful and funny guy who had a real passion for life and cars in particular. We will all miss him dearly. Cheers John
Martin and Ankie are planning on coming. I thought I had added my name to the list as such about one week ago.
Whish I could join you guys but unfortunately I'm still in the Philippines finishing my Scuba Diving Lesson. See you guys in a few weeks.
