I have owned a 1996 Ferrari F355 for almost two years now and would like to mention the great service I have gotten from a independent mechanic here in South Florida. His name is Murray Bacchus, located in Hollywood, Florida.

For the past several years, Murray has attended to each and every issue and enhancement that I have requested with honesty, integrity, experience, friendliness and a fair price. That includes, a 3 year engine out servicing, regular maintenance, installation of a tubi exhaust, challenge grill, numerous exterior details and interior work.

I gain nothing from this endorsement other than to let others know that if you need someone to attend to your exotic baby (Lambos, Ferraris, BMS etc.) Murray is the MAN. In these tough economic times, it is nice to know there is someone out there who truly cares about the customer.

He can be reached at 954-981-5737.

It is great to find a top notch mechanic/shop, but if it is not a Ferrari licensed and stamped service, what is the service worth compared to a stamped service?

Murray is known personally and has been invited to Ferrari headquarters in Italy several times.

As far as the value of his service , his rates are far better than anyone else doing comparable work and his workmanship beats any dealer around. I know...I have been to both

Murray should get in contact with Rob Lay and become a sponsor so he can advertise on the site and perhaps drum up some business for himself so he doesn't have to go through 3rd parties with only 15 posts to their credit to shill for him.....:D

I'll shill for Murray and I have a few more than 15 posts.

He did a full engine rebuild on my father's Countach (after discovering water in the oil when the car was brought in to diagnose a poor running condition) the car has been flawless ever since he did the work.

Martin uses him too - and I am sure he also has plenty of nice things to say.

By no means was I implying that Murray isn't a competent or qualified mechanic (even though I have never utilized his services nor knew that he existed) or has provided services to others within this space. I was merely commenting on the fact that it seems quite odd that an individual poster with minimal history on this board would be out promoting his services to the masses rather than the Murray stepping up and marketing both his services and himself directly to the community.

I doubt that any business owner would disagree with the importance of personally introducing yourself and the services you can potentially provide to a community like ours. This allows for a more intimate interaction with potential customers all the while allowing existing customers to speak out and tell others all about their experience and satisfaction level just as you have done.

The original post is fairly transparent revealing that ronaldl128 created this thread to drum up some business for Murray. Word of mouth advertising can sometimes be very effective, but to spend a few hundred bucks, become a site sponsor, and put yourself and your business right out in front of thousands of people and Ferrari owners not only builds a level of credibility, but also helps Murray build some awareness for himself. A very small price to pay to keep his garage full of cars with a workload that will keep him busy for many months to come.

It's good to know that Murray exist's and I will keep his info in case I need some work done in the future, but it would be nice to hear directly from Murray on this board so those like myself that don't know him can interact with him and learn a little more.

Fiorano, your post was a bit abrasive, hence the response. The word shill, while correct in its usage, is pretty derogatory by definition and alludes to a lack of integrity and/or wrongdoing. No dog in the fight, I just read the post and can see why people jumped in.

I used the term "shill" because the original poster looked to promote someone else within this community without the courtesy of paying for a membership subsciption or sponsorship (getting something for nothing).

Here is a guy that is looking to be entrusted to work on cars valued in the hundred's of thousands of dollars and he can't step up and pay a few hundred bucks to become a sponsor? Same goes for those that feel my post was "a bit abrasive" who too can't press up $15 bucks and be a paid member of this community but can pick apart someone elses words within a post!!!

    Hence my response....!

    Fiorano1:

I do not know why Fiorano posted such a derogatory message regarding my post on getting a fair shake with a mechanic in South Florida.

The fact that I have limited posts on this board has nothing to do with the fact that I was showing appreciation for a guy that has treated my fairly and with integrity over the years with my car.

I am no "shill".....and I feel sorry for anyone that does not know me to denograte someone he/she does not even know. Why can't anyone rave about someone 's work without being a target of and ignorance...and perhaps ....snobbery.

    Fiorano1 ......what is your problem???

i dont see anything wrong with someone mentioning he had great service...you certainly would not complain if he had mentioned he had bad service from this individual and to avoid him.

not sure what anyone's motives are...everyone has their reasons.

let the damn guy slide with this one, and if he ALWAYS promotes this guy, then yes, he is a troll and a alt nic for this shop. it was one mention, and the guy was trying to add something to the community. if everyone feels they will get jumped for offering advice and opinions, then you win, we turned fchat into a pile of merda where everyone walks on eggshells.

i think you owe him an apology for jumping him the way you did.

that is the respectful, friendly thing we should strive for here at fchat. fun, learning, and most of all respect.

Thank you sir for your comment. All I did was to try and make someone elses day a little better.

When I first made my post under "F355, the moderator of this chat board 285 ferrari suggested that I do the same under the Florida post. That is what I did.

It is so sad that people like Fiorano 1 are like that.

    Anyway thank you again .......sir

It has long been established that Murray Bacchus does quality work, there is no need for any of us to attack a member with only a few posts.
