driveline and brakes are the only salvageable remnants. and they're not original either!

Saw that in Monterey and it looks better in these pics, what a mess. Funny how after all these years the Mangusta will pull more money than a Pantera.

....superb styling (one of the best in auto history!), production of 400 vs. 7,000, and it is a no brainer...Mangusta, still the most undervalued TRUE exotic out there IMHO :)

+10000. Ha, relax Mike, LOL! The Mangusta is a really special car. The styling is one of those benchmark designs. You have to look at what time it was made to really appreciate it the most. The production numbers are almost identical to a Lamborghini Jalpa, rare enough that most have never seen one. A few years ago, probably around 2001, you could buy one for a similar Pantera price. I came close to owning two of them, one for 37k, yellow, and another that had a factory steel removable sunroof for under 20k, a complete non running project :( . The design is so legendary, that various auto companies have had one in their design studios to study. Luckily the Pantera came around, without it, the values & interest wouldn't be the same.

If the owners paid me 250k, I might take the car.

I am right there wilth you brother Mangusta is the real deal. It may have some issues under the skin, but as a design there arn't many that come close. There should be a Mangusta thread, one that isn't botched up by the P cars, but this is a Pantera post so I will end my comments.
