Sorry, I saw that earlier in the thread. I guess I should/meant to have asked before that monstrosity, and why did Vignale stop bodying Ferrari's? I know I can read Marcel's whole book on the subject, but is there a simple answer?

If it is 1977/early 1978 and 170ET then this photo could be at Bull Rudd's shop in Van Nuys. The LM in the background would be 5909LM just before Bob Epstein drove it back home to Piedmont, CA. Bill had the car briefly to change the battery after I had been keeping the car.

170ET was used in the Bill Rudd advertisement that was used in the Ferrari Owners Club magazine. The photo for the ad was done by Larry Crane.

Thanks for the Crane pics. Used to be my favorite local event. Too bad that the Trustees thought it had become too popular and discontinued it.
One year P.Russell (I think) brought a loverly early coupe. I believe it too was a Vignale. I don't know if the owner would want his name posted. My photos are on film and unavailable, anyone else have a shot of that car?

This is a Vignale design I found in an old italian magazine of 1957. It was supposed to become a car for the late king Baldwin of Belgium but as far as I know never materialised. Does someone have any information on this car that was never to be build? Marcel perhaps?

Wasn't that car originally 2-tone green with green interior?

Yes, it was two-tone green, not with black. 0090 E. Interior was brown originally, not green.
See old color photo posted earlier.
Restoration was done by Tillack & Co in CA, car later completed by Paul Russell's Gullwing Company in Essex/MA.

One thing I've been curious about 0090E was why it was entered in the touring car class at Pebble in 2002. As an even numbered car should it not have been in the comp class?

    Thoughts?

0090 E was born as a ROAD car but had an even numbered chassis. You can not automatically go by chassis number (odd or even) for road or comp cars. Just think about 250 LMs or 250 GTOs, both considered comp cars but with odd numbers. Or think about 0476 AM, the salmon and gray painted ex-Robert Wilke GHIA-bodied 375 MM that was clearly a road car but has an even chassis number since it was built on a chassis type 108.

According to a Belgian friend it was built on an Aston Martin chassis.

Interesting photo showing the Ferrari surrounded by a Ford, Buick, Olds and a Corvair.
