The flip side is it only takes one buyer who doesn't do his research for the car to sell. They are down to $200k Euro and dropping- like everything else I might add.
right...so if you wanted one, it'd cost you $450K AUS plus taxes would make it about what, $700+ anyway...and this one has the advantage of actually being here to smell and touch! there aren't too many people who are stupid enough to travel overseas to source one
200 k Euro is $394 k Oz. Taxes yes. I can't be stuffed doing the numbers. As you say, this car IS here and a lot less hassle. It IS also very high mileage for an F40 with lots and lots of road rallies and track work under it's tyres. Not a positive for resale values. At the very, very least you could buy a fresher example for less; but it would be a lot more work to make it happen. None of this is meant to indicate that the Dutton F40 is a bad car, it isn't. It is what I would call a "driver" F40. It's just that in a world of comparitively low mileage garage queen's it's value will suffer by comparison.
1995 355 for $129K. Has the WORST wheels I have seen on a 355 on it sadly! http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/FERRARI/F355/Victoria/csn6678060.aspx
Shocker. The seats are at least an average re-trim or at worst aftermarket. Might be for sale for a while I think.
