I dont think the XKR is a true 2+2 as the Scag. And if i want a 2 seaters only, then id pick a 599 over it or a used 575.

    Hey Andrew :)
I had deposit on XKR for 4 seater for the kids to ride in. I passed, as my kids have legs. Couldn't get my damn briefcase behind me on floor, yet alone a pair of legs. 612 at least has room.
Now, XKR v 612 v QP-hmmm. Used CL63's are deals too, depreciating, but deals.

Call me bias (as I've had my 612 for four years now) but as good as it would be I can't imagine anyone who drove both would go for the Jag.

    not even close!!!

    XK8 appeared in 1997...

the only reson to pick the jag, would be to NOT have the Ferrari badge.

A bigger question... anyone else think Jag will be gone by 2012?

Why on God's green Earth would anyone think to compare the two?

XK can be compared to a Mercedes CL AMG but not to a 612 in my opinion.
Besides that, who knows whats TATA going to do with Jag...

No way to compare the two. The Jag and Mercedes are a better comparison. If you want to compare the 612, the Aston DB9 is probably a better comparison. Honestly I don't think any other 2+2 is in its price category (performance/price) which is one of the reasons why the 612 in Ferrari's lineup suffers. All its competitors are 100K south of it and its obvious Ferrari has more people looking for a straight 2 vs a 2+2 (Calfifornia's presales notwithstanding).

From a performance category in 2+2, I'd look at Aston DB9's (no real back seat to speak of), Maserati GT (essentially 612's baby step brother until the CA comes out), Porsche 911 Turbo (different personality) than the jaguar.

One that I'm sure is considered and is even higher is the drophead coupe from RR. That is a killer vehicle in its own right but completely different than a F-car.

I was thinking the same thing....

...give someone an open mic, someone will eventually step up and start spouting crap. lol

I drove the supercharged XLF....turd basket on wheels. I'm not a Ferrari owner, but to connect a Ferrari and a Jag in the same mental thought process? wow.

forgetting about the 612 comparison, this is now an interesting car. great power to go with the already great looks. aston martin looks about 10% better for a 50% $ premium.

real competition is xkr, amg sl63 and m6. sl probably best but xkr should be a better value. i dont like m6.
